Why it Damages the Vehicle but not Punctures it?

First time reached Grand Master!!!!

Coming from being an MK2 main. The look and feel of the mythic Tundra is a lot better than I expected. Given all the hate it was given prior to its official release. Note: I also own the Mythic DLQ

Not sure if it's because of the bullet speed, or what. But my shots just won't do damage sometimes.
