Cmon atleast a performance fix for the imperial city would be good.

  3. Shame they’re not going to address some visual decisions like the Dark Brotherhood door and some armour etc

  4. Virtual_Abies4664

Well, did anyone test to see if vampire actually works on the elf races now?

Thats about the only worthwhile thing I see.

    Waiting for a physical release

Edit: why the fuck am I being downvoted for wanting a physical release of this game???

  6. Friend_or_FoH

Still no fix for the Stranger quest in the thieves guild?

  7. Noctis-Fatalis

I was hoping there would be a fix for The Pilgrim quest not allowing you to speak to the Prophet about the relics.

I’m on console and can’t start Knights of the Nine 🙁

Thanks for sharing the full release notes here, OP.

My PC got a decent framerate, but I have that same issue as everyone when exploring – frame hitches when loading in new chunks of the map.

  9. Fixing enchanting is good, I have never gotten enchanting to work despite the various workarounds

  10. Well, time to keep waiting to buy it until they fix it.

Im glad they are fixing stuff but i have seen bigger more substantial patches after a game being out for a week. Seems like a long wait for not that many problems being addressed. Am i blind or are they not addressing the paralyze/bow crash bug?

I remember seeing a video on YouTube talk about the blatant memory and performance issues seriously affecting the playability of this remaster and the comments were like “wow isn’t it so cute and jank just like the original amirite guys”

If you’re making a remaster so that you don’t need 100 stability mods to play the original but the remaster is just as unstable and broken and requires a bunch of mods to be playable then what’s the point? Surely that’s a massive failure? If any other game did this it would be criticised to hell and back.

Was that what was doing it? I thought I was crashing because I was just making potions way too quickly. I had no idea it was because I was using stolen ingredients. Crime really doesn’t pay I suppose.

I Guess My Purchase Will Have To Wait Until Patch 2

  15. MattCat1261

Need to fix the armor breaking too fast with shield spells stacking

  16. DamianKilsby

Are performance fixes confirmed coming in patch 2? I’m holding off until the stuttering is fixed, I can deal with lower frames because of ray tracing but I refuse to deal with constant traversal stuttering.

  17. Stay tuned for a few days for the “Bugs introduced” section.

But good to see a patch after all this time.

I’ve played through the entire remaster and finished 100% of steam achievements on it in under 40 hours. Maybe 42 if you count the shivering isles double achievement where you need to play both sides from a previous save.

I think it’s incredible what they accomplished simply by updating to ue. The game still felt like the oblivion I loved growing up, and now that I’m in my 30s it still felt fresh and new. I wouldn’t mind seeing them doing this upgrade to any other games in their catalogue as well.

My only issues I had with the game were combat bugs really. If I forgot to kill one mob in a cave that was chasing me, sometimes I had to run away for 25~ minutes to leave combat. Even going back and finishing the mob still required this and I don’t recall it being this bad in original oblivion. This probably happened a half dozen times in my playthrough. I had a weird bug where after beating the thieves guild I couldn’t sell to any fences anymore, and it wasn’t the old bug people knew of where the guy gets stuck in the house, he was in the new guild and just never had a trade option. I also only had 2 game crashes and both were in the shivering isles expansion quests.

Overall a very enjoyable and solid experience of a remaster. A lot of the changes to being able to level all skills to max for example were a nice addition. I probably only had 3 skills at max which were sneak, marksman, and lockpicking and I didn’t do the tutorial sneak bug either I just always sneaked. Highly recommend if you have the spare $40 and need a game to lose yourself in again.

Wtf no fix for crash when re-stunning a stunned mob. Game is fucked for me and I imagine a lot of players because of it

  20. PuzzleByNakuze

Oblivion was my gateway to open-world RPGs — if they keep the charm and fix the jank, this could be something special.

  21. TruthOk8742

This game has been among the best sellers since its release, so the least they can do is to support it through patches for a while. I was pretty excited at first, but the performance issues can get rather annoying. Also, while this cannot be fixed with patches, this game surely shows his age in a million ways.

  22. Captobvious75

So waiting six months after release continues to be the winning formula.

  23. Pretty sure if they just implemented Nanite Foliage the game would run sooo much smoother.
And their streamlined LoD threading. Which should be out now on the latest UE5 update.

  24. Ehh, with that speed maybe we will get some performance patch by September, then they maybe fix difficulty scaling and leveling speed by December… It feels like game is being patched by 3 unpaid interns.
