From a UNC-CH dumpster to 20-FPS all over the world…she left me.

On to a younger model, I guess…

On a side note, the bitch took all my Nintendo ROMs…I'll never digitally recover from this…

did the storage drive die? because if not, you can pull it out and plug to another PC to get the data off it.

You can get spares for these including whole ass motherboards, you know.

And if the laptop itself died, there’s a good chance that the HDD/SSD is still intact.

You can absolutely recover data from that drive.

You can fix a thinkpad pretty easily.

You could always take the drive out and extract the roms, also rest well deserved v:

x230. These were fraught with problems. You got a golden sample of a unit if it’s made it this far.

    RIP, all the same.

Let us lower our heads for we have lost another brother in the never ending fight with boredom and “planned obsolescence”. Gentlemen and ladies, strike your F keys now.

Legit sounds like something a Thinkpad would say.

    Impossible. ThinkPads don’t die.

    What happened to it?

Nah, bet she’s just asking for more attention. Like undressing, replacing thermal paste, blowing the fan and removing the felt pad that was growing there over the years. Maybe replacing the disk, and recovering the Nintendo ROMs from it. Poking around RAM slots too.

Mine did that from time to time, especially when thermal compound was conductive and ended up close to the CPU core, where fragile components live.

There are no more like them any more… similar, but not the same.

I would leave you too if you forced me to game on a 13-year-old Thinkpad.
