I don't have any black ones. there's like a <1mm gap in-between, but it still slides freely without applying upward force to the GPU.

As long as it isn’t a conductive material anything will do till you get an official one.

  2. syncopekid

It’s fine. And depending on how much you care about jank it could even be a permanent solution

  3. realmenlovezeus

Nothing more permanent than a temporary solution.

  4. Hmasteryz

That will outlast your pc lifetime imo, yeah it’s fine.

  5. SoftKacpix

Thats a nice gpu sag support, i dont think you need to change it.

  6. that_norwegian_guy

Why buy a real one, when you’ve built one that is better?

  7. JobIllustrious2846

This could easily be your permanent sag bracket. If you want to save money; keep using it.

  8. 1nfinitium

What do you mean by ‘temporary’? Thats as good as it gets.

  9. Skrrpopop

Seeing as there are real life houses completely built out of Lego, I would consider that as THE solution 😂

Looks good to me. Only suggestion I’d make would be to make the sag preventer rainbow puke colors to match the fans. /s

btw, i see you are daisy chaining your pcie connectors, its best to use individual cables for each port on the gpu if possible.

I’ve used rolled up cardboard as a GPU support, so I think this will be fine as long as you prevent it from gliding away!

  13. Replace the top brick with some foam rubber stuff to avoid vibration noises.
I have been running this for 6 years now. Works great.

Lego is one of the toughest things you ever have.

it will outlast everything you got.

  15. Haylz2709

Lego bricks are made to last a lifetime, I wouldn’t replace that

  16. xStealthxUk

Iv done the same thing and mines been fine for months.

Id suggest a tiny bit of blue tac on bottom and top of lego to stop risk of it moving /popping out

  17. Pure_Spyder

Temporary? Just straighten the blocks out so they’re flush with the card, find some black ones if you want it to match. Why pay for a permanent when your temporary does such a nice job

  18. xx_Shady_xx

I’ve been using Lego for a temporary GPU support in one of my rigs since 2011.

  19. iCake1989

This is great! No need to change anything. Well, you can slide a piece of rubber under your improvised Lego support If you are worrying it is too short to apply enough upward force. It looks just fine though.

  20. Unhappy-Marzipan-600

I have used a fucking ice cream stick. Anything works mate

  21. Why waste money if you already have the solution? At best get something made of rubber to improve friction

  22. -slugabed

Everyones doing this now? Should i? I have 2070

  23. Anyways, you should get a extra 8 pin in there. Don’t use splitters.

  24. Artistic_Data9398

I’d absolutely build a little Lego sculpture to hold it up.

But yes. Fine will outlast ever part of that pc lol
