What was wrong with the current naming scheme intel
Good luck selling these to the disappointed customers who bought 13/14 gen chips.

The naming makes perfect sense
U7 265K
U7 is like i7 which I believe stood for Intel
The first number after is the Generation. This is the 2nd gen. This is the 2nd gen Tile based intel CPU
Second number is class and third number is subclass.
K means unlocked like always.
In the old scheme it would be called i7 15650k (15th gen)
I just figure out the intel naming scheme.. god damn it!

No idea why the change in naming scheme, but I won’t touch any new chip from Intel for at least 2 generations.
This confusing naming schemes need to stop. AMD did it (Ryzen AI HX 370 or whatever that called) , Qualcomm, Intel did these too.
Out of all big tech companies. I really hate to admit it, but only Apple do the naming scheme right? M1, M2, etc.
I think they really should have tried to make the IHS a squre again, or if they changed the ILM to not flex it so bad thats fine I guess

Intel just acting like their last gen CPU never existed lol. Their CPU totally screwed my build with it’s insane instability. Personally, I’m never buying intel again for how they ‘addressed’ the issue

They replaced 14600K, 14700K, and 14900K with 245K, 265K, and 285K. How will I ever learn these confusing names? Next you’ll tell me that next year’s models are gonna be called 345K, 365K, and 385K? Insanity!

Soo, intel reputation aside, this doesn’t look that good.
The P core on the “i7” has lower performance than the 9700X ST scores, and the P core on the “i5” is the basically the same as the 7700X? That means the only thing that’s allowing the MT scores to push higher (and thus look better in benchmarks) is the E cores?
