it’s actually happening. 3 days in a row chrome has disabled uBlock requiring me to go to the actual extension page to re-enable it, with a note saying that it will be removed soon.

Right as they get the antitrust ruling against them too.

  2. SRDD_Mk-II

Fuck. After all this time, it’s finally been intercepted for good.

    Fuck Google.

  3. MakeMineMarvel_

The second adblocks are removed from chrome so many people are gonna switch over to another browser and it’s gonna be glorious

Switching to Firefox two years ago was a good move. Its an easy switch, just do it

Even if it’s probably a reskinned Chrome, I switched to Brave and never looked back, it’s especially great on mobile with it’s built in adblock. Firefox is my second choice.

  6. SomeDuncanGuy

Saw the writing on the wall a couple of years ago and switched back to Firefox. Aside from a slightly less convenient (at least in my opinion) set of developer tools I have had 0 downsides.

  7. Thing_On_Your_Shelf

Why are people still using Chrome in the first place?

  8. DependentAnywhere135

Just switch to Firefox god damn people. The sooner you do it the sooner you’ll adapt and get over having to switch. It’s a better browser anyway.

  9. DeepJudgment

Just a couple of days ago I uninstalled Chrome and when they asked for feedback, I wrote something like “I will be switching to Firefox thanks to you dumping Manifest V2” and left negative answers to “would you recommend Chrome to anyone” questions. I urge everyone to do the same

  10. I haven’t used chrome in a long, long time..

    Been using Firefox ever since.

  11. And it’s all because Google is trying to prevent people from blocking ads on YouTube.

  12. AllMyFrendsArePixels

The best time to switch to Firefox was 20 years ago, but the second best time is now.

  13. Next-Difference-9773

Stuff like this is exactly why I left Chrome for Firefox years ago. Haven’t any issues with Firefox since I made the switch.

The web is practically unusable without adblockers given that ads cover nearly the entire screen on some pages. The existence of malvertising doesn’t help either.

  14. VileDespiseAO

Chrome is such a terrible web browser anyways. Any self respecting individual should have stopped using Chrome ages ago, let alone in 2024.

  15. Yesr ago I switched to Firefox and have no regrets!

  16. Shoddy-Conference-43

Firefox has always been there, yall be treating it like second option your whole lives.

  17. ZarianPrime

Just switch to firefox. Did it two years ago and never looked back.

Also switched my search engine to duckduckgo

  18. Secret_Account07

I know switching browsers sucks…but people- Switch to Firefox now! Don’t look back.

It took me a min to get used to new menus but it’s so worth it. Google has metrics on everything. Speak with your actions. Stop using their shit browser.

You’re using software made and supported by a corp that has a primary revenue based on advertising delivery. Think long and hard about using any platform that makes money from ads/info and offers “free” product. You’re the product.

  20. FinasCupil

“Hurr durr, it’s actually happening!” Yeah, we have been saying this for a couple of years now.

  21. corpius01

Who still uses chrome? It’s absolute garbage.

  22. ASDIB995

I’ve ditched Chrome more than a year ago.

  23. Bitter-Whole-7290

Regardless of ublock being removed, who chooses chrome? Isn’t it still a massive unreasonable resource hog?

  24. Xypheric

All of these people saying they are switching to Firefox but Firefox just enabled ad tracking by default as a big sign they are going to follow right behind Google.

  25. icantgetnosatisfacti

Why do you still use that chrome garbage?

  26. PopularStaff7146

Glad I never hopped on the chrome train.

  27. MrOphicer

Firefox baby, I’m sorry I ditched you a decade ago. Please take me back, I’m a changed man now.

  28. R3d_P3nguin

Why the hell are you still using anything chrome based?

  29. Inflatedshaft

People should stop using chrome and edge…
