It’s 2023 and they still make motherboards without preinstalled IO shields?
Also not to be “that guy” but I would flip your fan on your cpu cooler to be a push and not a pull through the heat sync
Just get a slot screwdriver and gently pray back on the usb ports from the inside and it will slide right in… way easier than undoing the motherboard. /s

Just throw it away and pretend it was missing. I must say that thoser brackets being pre-mounted to the motherboard is a real QOL improvement. Weird really that it took them 20 years to do it.

I made a different mistake of not putting it in properly, this caused crazy static in my audio whenever I opened a game , took me a while to realise I messed up putting the motherboard shield on as I was busy thinking it was a software problem
Well you also put the CPU cooler on upside down and blowing back-to-front, so it sounds like you’ve got reasons to pull it right back apart.

Half the time they’re a pain just to get into place. I don’t even care about them anymore.
It’s a mistake you only make once… then several more times after you make fun of someone else that did it.
A few screws and you’re happy again.

I finally got a motherboard with a built in IO shield and I don’t use a case anymore lol
Been there a couple times now, first time I just pushed it in, second time I had only mounted the Mobo so I took it out and out it in lol
I’ve done that exact thing before. First and only time I’ve done it that’s for sure. I just took the mobo screws off, moved it a little, slotted it in and re screwed it down. Wasn’t too bad.
Throw against the wall, order new parts.

you can take this as a chance to take off your rear fan and CPU cooler and mount them in the correct orientation
Lol I always forget the IO shield and I refuse to undo my work to install it so shieldless I live.

leaving it out is a pro move to improve airflow actually, i do not, in fact, forget it every time
