We’ll see when Tech Jesus compares them.

  2. Antic_Opus

These things always skew the numbers. Yes even AMD does this.

  3. hardlyreadit

Videocardz: the 14900k is 2% faster on average

Wccftech: the 14900k is up to 23% faster

Idk which approach is better but I got whiplash reading these

  4. Surprise-Fiat

Funny how rumours went from 2% IPC gains now to this

  5. FatFunkey

Oh wow, the new chip that isn’t out yet is faster than the old chip that is out…… More news at 11

  6. We’ll see…

I find it pretty sus that they chose the 7950X3D as an example. It’s well known that some games use the wrong die and lose a lot of performance.

Should’ve used the 7800X3D to compare.

  7. TehChewie

Let’s get those exorbitant prices listed, daddy has things to mortgage!

  8. doesnt matter when it heats up like earth nucleus

  9. SomeoneBritish

It’ll have a weak upgrade path, chug power, need a beefy cooler, and cost a bomb…so yeah, it better be faster.

  10. Doctor4000

” Official [COMPANY] thing says [COMPANY]’s product is better than [COMPETITOR’S] product”

Yeah, yeah, of course they’re gonna say that. Wait until independent benchmarks are performed.

Amd fan boys grabbing their pitch forks and torches

  12. Sinister_Mr_19

News flash, new CPU faster than old CPU. Shocker

  13. Quegyboe

    “Intel slides…”

Who ever believes the OEM? Wait for 3rd party benchmarks.

  14. Synthwoven

Does this mean it will be priced comparably to the the 7950X3D? Because that is the subtext I interpret from choosing that product as a comparison point.

  15. Also **up to** 23% slower than 7950X3D in the same slide.

This up to make no sense and by average it’s literally the same even using their own slide.

  16. Djghost1133

The realistic number is going to be in the low single digits.

  17. SnuffleWumpkins

So? What’s the point of comparing two competing products from different generations? You’d think it would be more valuable to see how much of an uplift this thing has compared to a 13900k.

…. in Starfield and very little else.

  18. Alexandratta

I worked at an ISP, and I am very familiar with the phrase: “Up to”

“Yes MA’am, you can get up to 300mbps download speed…. So 230mbps is pretty good!”

  19. F35_Mogs_China

How does it get slaughtered in dota 2? Does dota eat 3d cache or somthin.

  20. Leaked geekbench results are showing an improvement of around ~9%

  21. DylanLee98

But will it light my room on fire? The 7950X3D already has benchmarks showing it uses half the power of the 13900ks when gaming.

As per usual, wait for Gamer Jesus to do a review before buying anything.

  22. ThisIsNotMyPornVideo

If we count the 23% in Metro exodus

Can we also say the the I9 14900k is 23% Worse than the 7950X because of Dota?

  23. How they avoid choosing the 7800X3D as its competitor speaks volumes.

  24. Spoksparkare

I mean it’s the newest generation, I sure hope it’s a little faster. Just wait until AMD comes with their counter

  25. Boring_Try3514

9% is respectable. It’s the same as a 13900 without any crazy new layout or pins right? 9% uplift on just optimized fabrication/production is to be praised. Probably not a lot left on the table for the serial overclockers to play with.

I’m tickled pink with my 7900x. It’s snappy as hell, stupid big files/workloads just get mowed down with it. ACAD files that would turn my laptop inside out, it just breezes thru them like opening a text document. Wish ACAD would utilize multicore better, still boosting to 5.6xx ghz gets shit done.

  26. OldManHarley

brand A thing 700% faster than brand B thing according to brand A.

  27. EliasStar24

    the 23% is in starfield.

so yes, you too can go from 50 to 60 fps while drawing more watts than the entire population of ireland

  28. milkstrike

Newer technology is faster than older tech? Stop the presses

  29. I am 23% more handsome than Henry Cavil according to me

  30. Morfizer1

    Impressive very nice.
Now let’s see the power draw and temps

  31. handsupdb

Doesn’t matter until it’s corroborated by multiple third party benchmarks.

And even if it’s false it doesn’t matter because Intel wins the mindshare war and people will buy Intel thinking it’s faster anyway.

  32. Shimitzu1

Official Intel slides can show whatever they want. Me too can create a slide that says anything lol

  33. Keelyane55

My Intel core i5-2320 is stronger than that 😎

  34. ValorantDanishblunt

23% faster with 200% more powerdraw

  35. MonsieurCapybara

Is this likely the last top of the line processor for the 1700 socket?

  36. just saw an article that said 2% faster, mannn
