I’m still surprised Mario Kart is apparently such a console seller. I get why so many people buy it when they purchase Switch, but buying Switch just to play Mario Kart doesn’t quite compute to me.
How many people come home excited after a long day of work/school just to play a “party game”. It’s not quite the experience a GoW, the standard high-end shooter, a new Zelda, or games of sorts offer.

Serious question, why did some people think _Mario Kart_ of all titles wouldn’t be a sufficient launch title? It’s Mario Kart. 8/8 Deluxe is literally in the top 10 best selling games of all time.
