I will never forget my grandfather watch me play a video game and also be so satisfied I hit a woman with my car. I had to have been like 12-14 at the time.
Helldivers 2 is the closest in gameplay.

This would be awesome. As it is, it’s still playable. The graphics are obviously 20 years old and the controls are a bit odd and clunky, but otherwise it’s still tons of fun.

Mercenaries was always the better version of Just Cause
Way more fun, way more explosions, and way more destruction l.
Honestly I’d take a PC port of this or the sequel just so it wasn’t trapped on old hardware.
The first game was so much fun.

Use to love seeing the factions fight each other on their boarders, I would just stand there and watch.

I have a vague memory of blowing up a random truck during a mission, and that’s all I can remember about this game.

NGL, this game had the best missions.
I actually liked the gameplay in this better than GTA 3 back then for sandbox open worlds driving and shooting games.
I still come back to this. Leveling bases with fuel air bombs, hijacking helicopters, running through warzones carrying your target trying to find a safe place to call evac. Best gta clone ever
