Never signed up to participate in a Skate pre-alpha playtesting before however last night EA went ahead and still sent me an invite code anyways. Thought it was weird at first until I spotted this in the email and everything makes sense now. These foos are so desperate to make money that they actually enabled microtransactions in a damn pre-alpha lmao

Did I read the right? You buy stuff in the store, when the game comes out everything is being taken away and they’ll put the skate bucks back in your wallet?
Let’s be real, if anyone is buying micro transactions on a pre alpha, that even explicitly says the account will be reset at some point … then yeah they deserve to be scammed.
EA kinda proving that the old saying that there is a market for anything is true, if they can pull this off.
I mean, you don’t HAVE to spend your money on anything you don’t want to. I play the free game and still have fun.

I miss when games had cosmetic unlocks tied to game progress.
I would so much rather pay $60 for a game and be able to unlock cosmetics by progressing rather than have to spend even $5 for an outfit that I like in a free game.
This was enabled ages ago, like, possibly since a previous playtest. I get the general hate towards mtx, but they make it very clear in the email that it is for testing to ensure it all works, and that the store purchases will be reset and in game currency refunded. For EA this is pretty transparent and by far and away towards the bottom of the list of shitty stuff they usually do.
I would be interested if anyone else could corroborated the idea you never signed up to EA Playtesting but got invited to do so. Not saying you are lying but unless every EA account just got this invite, I would suggest you are at least mildly mistaken.
