“I upgraded to a 5090 Ti” -The seller, probably

  2. Damn, my 5700X3D and 4070 Ti Super sucks being low end.

  3. wo5ldchampion

Damn, time to retire my low end 5800x3D x 7900XT combo then I suppose

  4. $2900 for a “mid range” setup that you can build less brand new, sounds good lmao

  5. stronkzer

Are we already in the RTX 7000 series ? Damn, time flies fast /s

I mean, I guess technically it’s not wrong?

While they are really high performance chips and cards, they aren’t top of the line like a 9950x3d or 5090.

So in the most literal sense they are mid range.

Still weird to call it that though. It’s more performance than most people will ever need.

Damn I such low-end tech here. Only 7800x3d and 4080 Super – low end I know. I should upgrade

  8. Happy_Brilliant7827

Id send an offer like “bro midrange cant be more than 1k”

  9. IrishGopherHockeyFan

Pretty sure the scale looks like Conan’s video game rating scales

  10. I had brought my pc to Micro Center for a second opinion and the tech (who had no clue what the fuck I was saying I thought the issue was) called my build a “budget build”.

My specs btw at the time: Ultra Core 9 285k, 5070ti, 64GB @6000 RAM.

That made me go, wtf is she running then?

I took what she said to heart and a 2 months later I upgraded to a 9950x3d and a 5080.

  11. Idk if it’s the big city in me but I see posts like this and think they just want to rob someone who shows up with 2k+ in cash.

  12. Sad-Heron-6515

Everything is mid range if you give it enough time (or manage to bring back sli)

  13. The seller : Ryzen 4070 that’s a good high end build

  14. For idiots like that anything that doesn’t include a 5090 is mid

If you consider the last gen of GPUs then RTX 5080 is in the middle between RTX PRO 6000 and RTX 5060, but still mid range refers to the whole spectre of PCs, not only last gen, and even considering last gen it’s not mid range.

  16. By defintion? Technically it is upper midrange when compared to the entire field

  17. Its better than people trying to peddle a 1080 as high end.

  18. I mean, it’s better than the people that say “top end gaming pc, plays everything on high / ultra” then it’s a 2nd gen i7 and a gtx 970 or 1050.

  19. Production class/ professional, 90 class.
    High end gaming, 80 class
    Mid range gaming, 70 class
    Entry/low end gaming, 60 class
    Enterprise, basic function, 50 class.

  20. 5080 is an amazing card, but with a ~38% improvement from 5080 to 5090, mid range isn’t far off.

I would consider calling it high-end with the 5090 being top of the line.

You have to consider that for the current generation of GPUs it is like 5050-5060 low end, 5070-5080 mid range, 5090 high end.

Previous gen GPUs are still relevant and usable (Plenty of 1080tis are still out there putting in work in modern games) but 1080tis are getting smoked by overclocked 5050s now.

I’ll offer them a midrange price for it then.

There seems to be two kind of people:
    – 9800x3d + 5080 > mid range

    – 7th Gen i5 + GTX1050 > high end
