It won’t hurt the laptop, but certainly will hurt us who were unfortunate enough to see this post, and will hurt you literally, both eyes, spine and neck, especially if this is used like this long term.

A small tv or monitor would be better but if it works

It is causing the machine spirit great discomfort, pain, and suffering.

No, the orientation isn’t really significant.

  4. No , Elden lord thou has faced a more challenging situation, why does thee need clarification?

Shouldnt have bought your laptop and mic from Australia

  6. WizardBoy808

You’d have to turn it round every 15 min to allow blood back into the mobo

  7. Hmm…All the electrons will flow down and start pooling inside the screen – it might pass out and there’s danger of CPU haemorrhage

  8. As long as it is firmly secured it should be alright.

  9. It is totally fine to use it like that, that is how people in Australia uses laptops.

I am more concerned about the microphone hanging like that

  11. musthaveleft1hago

Why not just hanging it the ” normal way ”? I dont’t think hanging it upside down would improve airflow that much.
Lifting it is already a huge help

You know what, reapect buddy respect, you saw something you wanted to do and did it. Im behind you 100% !

  13. Ballerbarsch747

… Why would you, though? Just use a normal laptop stand with fans.

Is it properly supported. Otherwise I imagine the laptop will be adding to much pressure on the hinges no?!

Old mechanical drives did suffer when titled but as everything now is solide state, the only worry is dropping it

  16. Only way I could see it being a problem is if the laptop is using an HDD rather than an SSD. Otherwise all you need to worry about is the machine spirit applying for an Australian passport.

  17. Remarkable_Fun_2757

Yes, it would hurt. The hinges are made to hold the screen only, it makes them stress more. Only if you attach the main part somehow, then it would not.

  18. Local-moss-eater

no the electricity will drain to the screen and the laptop will pass out

  20. In full seriousness? It’s likely to slowly overtime damage the hinge because of the weight being put on the laptop’s hinge while inverted is insane.

Not to mention, if this laptop has liquid metal (few do, but they def exist especially amongst gaming laptops) that’s like, HORRIFICALLY bad, overtime this could result in the liquid metal leaking and spilling on the motherboard causing all sorts of headaches that might not be repairable without an entire motherboard replacement.

TL;DR, move out of australlia mate.
