Would you pay Battlefield 6 that much ?
We’ve been hearing so much about Battlefield 6 lately. Trailers, teasers, all that hype… But at the same time, it’s easy to see how much the player base is complaining and how low their expectations have fallen**.** I’m someone who’s been playing Battlefield since 2005, and even my expectations are pretty low in fact, seeing these rumored prices makes my hopes drop even more.
In truth, the backlash isn’t even just about Battlefield 6. Gamers have been voicing huge frustration at AAA games lately at how sloppy and cash-grabby they’ve become and series like Assassin’s Creed and Battlefield are getting a lot of that heat. Recently, the removal of older games from digital storefronts (like EA’s short-lived decision to delist some classic Battlefield titles that sparked a big fan outcry has only fueled the anger toward AAA publishers even further.
So what do you think is the core reason players have grown so wary of big-name series that keep pumping out sequels? Are games releasing unoptimized and broken the main issue, or is it just that they’re too expensive now? Despite all this backlash, why do these companies still insist on such high price tags?

Because it will still sell. Gamers will stomp their feet, complain and then buy the next COD/BF everytime
What does premium give you? Future DLCs?
EA 6 months from now: “*Battlefield 6 failed to meet our expectations and as a result, we are shuttering DICE and Battlefield Studios.*”
They expect 100 million people to pay $80?
Dollars and euros. Damn!
And my interest in this game has tanked. Not spending $80 on a game
They insist because people pay for them. Most people will probably still preorder the game despite anything
What a ripoff
EA can fuck off.
The weirdest part is it makes way more sense for a $10 game to be cash grabby and an $80 game to feel like after paying, you have everything. But that seems to be rarely the case now. I have gotten so much playtime and content out of games less than $40.
I’m not going to to buy this game
Remember when $60 was the standard? Feels like we basically skipped right over $70 and went straight to $80
It launching at 80 with how 2042 launched is not the move . Even if highly improved that’s not the way to get some of the market back . These days I wait to get games on sale . With increasing prices everywhere and more slop being pushed I’ve had to limit my selection . Sure people will still buy at 80 but the 80 price tag will magnify the smallest of errors. Then to mention the bugs ,glitches ,and server issues that will be there at launch will all add backlash even more.
I’m going to try to wait for it to reduce in price a bit. I emphasize try because I’m really bad at it haha.
Oh yeah? Then it’s another game to add to the list of “Wait for sale.”
I’ll buy it when it’s $40 and comes with all the DLC and bug fixes.
Why would you list two separate currencies lol
Ill wait for it to drop to 40. Should take about 3 months
It would have to get really good reviews. It would have to be the “return to form” the franchise hasn’t seen in the past decade. Like if it comes out and they’re like “Oh it really is like a new version of BF4 and the microtransactions aren’t egregious” then I would maybe consider it since the lifecycle of these is generally 4 or 5 years. But like anything less than that and I can wait for a discount.
Didn’t EA say they wouldn’t be charging $80 for their games right after Nintendo announced the $80 price tag for MKW?
Wait 6 months and it will be 40-50. The price of bf just doesn’t hold like cod does
I imagine it’ll drop quite quick. I’m in no rush to play it especially with arc dropping around the same time
It’s been a really long time since a quality battlefield product. I’ll probly pass on this for $80
I honestly think this is going to spell trouble for Battlefield if they launch it at 80. Sure, it’ll still sell, but this franchise needs some good press, and a price of 80 ain’t gonna do it.
Or 0$ if you don’t play
80? No thanks. I will wait for a sale.
So it’s 110 for the game and 80 for a version with functionality disabled.
People who pre – ordered 2042 should get the base version for free.
So….
…I pre-ordered 2042. Like, what was it, $120?
Fuck me. *Never* *ever* will I do that again. I’m such a hard-core BF fan, too. Fuck them for thinking that after the launch of 2042. Y’all should be handing out discounts after that debacle.
I’ve played a lot of games with launch issues *coughs Destiny 2*, but 2042 took the fucking cake.
I’m eager for a new BF but not THAT eager. I’ll wait for a sale.
Main reason is I have a 3 year long backlog. Makes no sense to spend launch price on a game that may sit for a while.
gonna be sincere as much i crave Battlefield as the old glory days of BF 2, Bad Company 2 destruction and so on
an $80 game imo gonna need to be pristine on release. AND the majority of its content, Game/Skins/Map on the initial purchase. six months down the line an DLC or Cosmetic update, no problem.
Hardware is on all time high price, the graphics that demands it have been lack luster to say lightly
and im sick and tired of battle passes and Store ingame
And I’ll just be waiting the 6-12 months when it inevitably doesn’t sell well and they drop the price to 10 or below in that time
Looks like I’ll just wait for it to be FTP 3 months after the fact. Because EA always relies on heavy monetization of their games. They always end up heavily discounting games in order to sell their fake currency to the lifers that must have the latest popular skin.
Idk if it’s petty but I just don’t buy ea or Ubisoft games at launch. I’ll wait for a deep sale if anything but nothing they put out interests me (minus hazelight games )
Strike One!
And the Steam Sales we wait
Game will be half the price 3-6 months after release. Depending on it’s success.
gonna spend the same amount i did with battlefield 2042… zero money
If it’s good I will wait for a sale
This is a series that has an extremely damaged reputation and is in desperate need of a redemption arc for it to survive… So let’s charge the most money ever!
Lol I’m sure at that price there wouldn’t be any micro transactions or battle passes right? Surely if you pay a premium you get the entire experience righhhtt??
i need two different currencies to buy the premium edition?
lmao after the last bf utter trash, yeah great idea EA
Great another game to wait for to come to Gamepass
