Struck a deal for those kids. I can’t systematically take all of them down, at least I can get those kids stardom.
Gonna be honest tho it doesn’t feel great either way.

Well spare her for Tommy and also for that sweet discount with Tommy’s father.
Fiona is not wrong, kill her and there are more countless academics out there and her job does help children and families to get out of poverty.
Well she will need to extensively hire new staffs since I brutally murdered all of them.

It’s one of those missions that make you appreciate how well the game is written because, in true Night City fashion, there’s not a good choice. First playthrough I blew her brains out, didn’t doubt it one second, but then I realized her death meant a few kids having their “future” taken away and that someone would take her place anyway. Second playthrough my V (in my head canon) was less idealistic and more calculating so she spared her if she gave the Dog Town kid a contract with a good team and only revealed half her client list… but then you meet the athletes abandoned by the program as phant addicts and you realize that wasn’t a good choice either.
Games need more writing like this, two-dimensional tales of good and bad get tiring real quick as Bethesda keeps demonstrating.
Viper_Visionary
Those deciding to spare her because of Tommie don’t realize that, if you look at his file, he’s an objectively terrible athlete. Even if she manages to get him on a team it’ll only be a matter of time before he gets kicked off it for lackluster performance, and him and his dad will be right back at square one. I killed her because screw her for exploiting children.

I personally spared her for Tommy’s sake. Walked to the computer, read the messages, walked back over and shot her.

I did not look kill her even though she deserves it. There’s a cyber psycho in Dogtown who was a former child athlete just like the boy we speak to only minutes before meeting Fiona. He’s got kicked off his team, And with no way to get the meds he needs to control his implants nor a family to depend on, he became this weird infantile psycho. That would have been that kid’s future if we zeroed Fiona imo. Sparing her so he can get on a team was probably the boy’s best chance of surviving and staying healthy outside of becoming a Merc, and even then I’ve never seen an old merc. He lives in Dogtown too. His odds for a future outside of sports are heavily against him.

As I recall, I flatlined her (been a while since I played). Yeah, there’s probably somebody else waiting in the wings, but I looked at it this way:
* The new guy is going to have to get up to speed. You can’t just plug somebody into a slot and have them performing at the same level of their predecessor (a point the real world job market conveniently ignores on a regular basis). Even with personal links, chipware, and all the bells & whistles, there’s going to be some lag.
* The new guy might well contemplate exactly how they got into this position in the first place, and might decide, “Yeah, whatever the last gonk did, I’m not going to duplicate that! It’s liable to get me killed.”
* There’s probably going to be a window where the organization isn’t going to be doing anything related to their prior activities. After all, some merc waltzed in, didn’t trip any alarms, and closed out the chief scientist’s contract, *then walked right back out again!* There’s gonna be security reviews, hardware upgrades, process improvements, all sorts of crap completely unrelated to the business. Might be a few months, might be a year or more. For all those kids that might get scooped up, a lot can happen in a year.

I always choose the option so that the kid gets put on a team. Later on, you can see him with his dad, and they’re seemingly excited. If you kill Fiona, the dad is really awful to the kid who is somewhat indifferent? He is happy to just be a normal kid, but his dad is sure to be worse to him as time goes on because they’ll stay poor.

Corpo: “What’s in it for me?” “I’ll get Tommie signed.” “I don’t give a shit about Tommie.” “Oh.” (I was just angling fir more money. It’s kind of silly that she doesn’t try. Ended up siding with her anyway, since money wasn’t an issue)
