It was always nice to get free UC but also always some cheater because free UC -.-
Once upon a time these cards were collected every Wednesday for free to participate in bonus challenges either in arena or classic matches where you get points based on you performance in the match and whether you have completed certain conditions in the match. Then you can redeem those points for free UC or outfits or gun skins.
