Already posted on another sub but I thought I’d share here as well. I expected to just have a laugh about my nostalgia tinted glasses but ended up having a blast. The game we were playing here was Conflict: Desert Storm, the game that introduced me to tactical shooters along with SOCOM, and still makes me sad to this day that games like this are pretty much dead.

Not having many couch co op games these days is the most shameful thing with gaming.

Man I miss having no responsibility, grabbing a case of soda and junk food and staying up all night playing coop games with the fellas on a Saturday night.
What do kids do now instead? Stay at their own houses and play together since everything is online? Seems like a missing piece there.
That game made for some hilarious co-op moments. I just remember my friend and I constantly screaming FOLEY NOOOO when he would get iced by tanks.

Used to have pizza party sleepovers and we’d rock Goldeneye 4 player PvP. Be up all night till my dad would inevitably come down in his tighty whiteys at 2am and yell at us to be quiet 😅

If you still enjoy tactical shooters and are a PC gamer these days, try Squad. People get super into playing it legit like a military OP and it gives you the tools to do it.
THIS is actually what it’s all about. I like new stuff as much as the next person, but when nostalgia is involved there is nothing that can compare

I don’t know where couch coop has gone honestly.
Some of the best times I had was playing early CODMW with my husband with our dogs sitting happily by us. In fact for this reason we kept buying larger and larger tv screens. Now I got a jumbo screen with no co-ops and we sit a mile apart on our sectional. I finally got him to give in and out a second TV side by side so now we got two twinsies setups which gets pretty damn expensive.
Had to do what it takes for Helldivers.
I did the same a few years back.
I highly recommend opening up your PS2 and cleaning it out.
I crashed my console the 2nd day playing it and when I opened it out the CPU Fan was caked- I mean CAKED with dust from sitting in storage for years.
I blasted all the gunk out with air duster and cleaned the vents and she played so beautifully- still does!
Probably my favorite co-op game of that era. Such a good game
