A lot of potentially interesting ideas and locations they sadly never gave an opportunity to shine like they did AC2
Boogersnap
Ugh I know 2 and brotherhood were my favourite of them all. Enjoyed black flag and I can say I enjoyed odyssey.

At this point I wouldn’t be surprised we get an Assassin’s Creed Primal. Turns out the first assassin was a caveman named Ogg and instead of a hidden blade he strapped a sabertooth fang to his wrist and went to town on a bunch of Neanderthals.

The potential this series had during the PS3/360 era was unimaginable.
Disappointingly but unsurprisingly, AC is the poster child of a series going for quantity over quality
Q3tp
The early AC games had so much possibility for future games. That’s what kept me coming back every time a new game came out. I think around Unity it just kinda got old. I haven’t been back the new ones just don’t look like my kind of game.
WTF_CAKE
I loved the world of AC2 so much as a teenager it was one of the few games I 100% too bad we didn’t get more story from ezio
mobius_mando
Whatsamatta you, Altair?
IceCreamTruck9000
I played every single AC but Shadows (waiting for discount) and I always enjoyed the historical parts of the games, but I always hated the Isu world ending bullshit and all of the abstergo crap in the current timeline.
j0shman
AC2 was the inflection point where a decent story could’ve been made. Instead they got themselves stuck in a corner with the Abstergo bs
_TheEnlightened_
The original assassin’s creed had me wondering about secret societies and the world balance at 15 years old…. Altaïr Ibn-LaʼAhad is the most devout, true assassin we’ve had.
Rook227
Wait… which one of the 947483739262 games was this scene from? They all start to run together considering they’re all the exact same game with different skins.
Pussytrees
The architecture in ac2 is the best in the series. Nothing better than climbing the bigass churches and jumping between rooftops and assasinating people then go back to walking through the crowd like nothing happened.
Turbo_Chet
Yea I remember being thoroughly enthralled by the story and how it would play out in the future. Unfortunately, post Black Flag is when I started to lose interest and it seems like the developers did as well. The threads they wove were just abandoned along the way.
JynsRealityIsBroken
The ending of ac2 with Ezio talking indirectly to Desmond was so mind blowing. It’s a travesty I’ve never forgiven Ubisoft for that they blew the storyline after 2 and eventually abandoned it altogether. One of the coolest stories in gaming history.
Shieldless_One
I always said it would have been so cool if they just went down the statues here and gave each their own game. Or if they even made one game and each assassin had their own city/region
mcylinder
If only they made 40 more of these games to show what they were truly capable of
DarthVeigar_
AC2 genuinely makes me want to visit Italy and especially Florence and Venice some day
It’s sad how the series is today. Hell its own plot stopped making sense after they killed off Desmond. And the overbloated RPG style games are just boring as hell to me.
science_writer
Yes.

AC2 is the definitive AC experience, it’s never been bettered.
And it’s soooo fucking weird, piecing together that little movie was mind-blowing as well as all the trippy/meta Animus mini puzzles. Too good, plus scowering the environments for hidden esoteric symbols then jumping into them.
Nightman67
If I’m not mistaken the one to the right of Altair was retconned into being Aya from Origins. I also think the Mongolian one is featured in a comic with Altair and his son Darim.
It’s nice they used these some of these statues but I would like to see more connections
MithranArkanere
A lot of great ones, if it had been a collaborative open-source effort.
With corporate nonsense, you get just that.
Dirty_Dragons
Dude near the middle has a wizard staff.
Nightblade would be interesting.

“This scene” posts an image instead of the scene lol
Lyra_the_Star_Jockey
No matter what they made, the fanbase would have complained.

ACII was the first and last good AC game, sadly…
