I'm not a fan of anime whatsoever but I am a big fan of cyberpunk 2077. Should I watch it?

it’s just a less 12ep anime give it a shot

  2. Xanth1879

I just started watching it. On episode 3 and it’s been pretty good.

Its story is more comic book than traditional anime tropes. I’d even argue that the main character’s story is an anti-thesis to most action adventure and anime hero protagonists. If what you dislike is the traditional stories of good protagonists overpowering villains through pure grit and the art of trying harder, you won’t find that in Edgerunners. It’s more 80’s comicbooks/scifi stuff, like Akira without the superhero tropes.

There’s no deadline of enjoying a piece of media. If it was good years ago, it will still be good today. Whether or not it’s your cup of tea is another story.

Yes! You’ll recognize every background and character from the game when they make cameos.

What kind of question is this? Do series drop in quality with time?

I am not an anime fan either, but I really enjoyed this one. Probably because of the Cyberpunk setting though.

i watch it every year or two and it hits hard everytime, the post show depression is real with this one. it WILL make you cry everytime you hear a certain song in game, and it will leave a whole in ur chest that u will feel for like a week

    It’s definitely worth it.

You might not *love* it, but I doubt you’ll dislike it.

It’s also worth it for the stuff added in-game.
There will be some places (and 1 song) that every time you go past them in-game, you’ll think about Edgerunners.

Made me play the game. Not disappointed at all.

Why is everyone so obsessed with things being “worth it”? If you’re curious about the show watch an episode. If you enjoy it keep watching. If you don’t enjoy it stop watching. Jesus Christ it’s not that complicated.

Why don’t you put it on and find out? I never understand these lazy ass questions.

I’m not really an anime fan either and I still enjoyed. The episodes are only 30 minutes or so, why not just watch the first episode and then decide if you want to keep watching

  14. Relative_Valuable860

It’s good, just a little depressing. I didnt enjoy it for that reason.

  15. dude ngl i hate anime, however i played the game and loved it and stopped playing for all the bugs. when i came back and heard of the show and how much better the game was, i gave it a shot and bro it’s great. first few episodes can be weird if you’re not a anime fan (specifically lucy’s face changing on the moon that part always gave me the creeps) but still overall a great show.

  16. Duncle_chuy

Fuck yes it’s worth it. What are you even doing here? You have homework. Go watch edgerunners.

  17. Far-Sign1706

If you like cyberpunk then you will like the show.

  18. Dude, it’s Studio Trigger.

Even if you aren’t an anime fan this is the equivalent of asking is the bacon any good at a truck stop. Of course it’s good, its BACON.

  19. No no no… It is just the content that saved the entire franchise and made possible the unparalleled comeback of the game.

    Ch’Yeah!

And they say there’s no happy endings in Night City.

100% i dont like anime but this was 🔥

  22. Straight-Produce-175

Not a huge anime fan but i do really like this one. Id hardly consider it to be an anime tbh and anybody can watch this and like it

  23. LaserGadgets

It will always be worth it and as long as you like any cyberpunk, you need to watch it. Frankly speaking.

It’s so good. I was skeptical with how many failed video game adaptions there have been in the last 10 years but edgerunners is amazing. I binged it all in one Saturday. 10/10 emotional damage

  25. Yes. I had stopped watching anime completely since the early 00s and had no interest in it at all. Then this came out and having dumped 600 hours in Cyberpunk around that time I gave it a go.

This is what got me into watching them. I’ve rewatched it 4x now and have beaten someone in game with Sir John Phallustif about 20x for reasons. This also introduced me to my favorite shotgun.

I also have the same question and I enjoy every second of it.

  27. the more sad you get, the more powerful cd project red gets

  28. Goated_rapist

Yeah definitely, it’s more of an American cartoon than an anime if I’m being honest, art styles kinda anime that’s all, ig the gooner/fan service and occasional Japanese dialogue is kinda anime too but that stuff is in the game as well lmao so you should like it

  29. Honestly, the game was better. But the show isn’t too bad. I guess my expectations from the game exceeded the show.
