CS2 was supposed to release on the 5th of July this year. There was an incident which lead to CS:GO being wiped.

Dev team are extremely unhappy with the state of the game. Only 5 people were working on it for most of its existence.

Many bugs and issues with the game are because the engine build is based on VR game HLAlyx, many of its current networking issues are because of this. They call it animgraph1 build internally.

Two new Valve created maps are being developed named ‘Savana’ and ‘Bonsai’

Animation engine update named ‘animgraph2’ scheduled for Q3

All collected VACNet data will be wiped after ‘animgraph2’ release.

Devs undecided whether to announce this as a major update or to quietly update the game with the overhauled engine.

VACNet monitors your emotions in voice chat/text chat.

Overwatch system is not implemented and cases are not watched by humans, it is done by VACNet.

CS2 dev team was 5 people at its lowest, many devs went to work on Deadlock and Half Life 3 was being prioritised. The number of active CS2 devs has now increased to over 20 people.

Devs are aware of the growing problem with cheating. Internal conversations between devs suggest utter incompetence in how to handle the problem. Decision was made to publicly ignore/pretend the problem doesn’t exist.

I’m a big fan of how aggressive the VRS is. A $1 million tournament with only Tier 2 teams. Don’t feel like participating as a T1 team? Then you’ll get eaten alive—hey, Liquid.

It gives small organizers so much more power—100% that big names will go to FISSURE #2.

  4. Love the VRS, prioritizing LAN wins and prize money, giving Tier 2 teams a good shot to climb and tier 2 tourney organizers a chance to grow as well
