A keyboard combined with lighting effects

  1. The first colour looked nice, if it was just kept static it would be a classy look if used with the right setup, but it quickly descended into rainbow slop

Looks cool for the first 10 minutes of use. Then becomes pretty annoying.

I have reactive keys like that, but it’s not applied to the whole keyboard and only lights up blue against a gold backdrop on each keypress (same brightness, same intensity so that they blend well and are only noticed if you’re staring at the keyboard.) I tried schemes like the video but they were extremely distracting having something brightly flashing in your peripheral vision.

The keyboard itself is super god damn cool though, I’d love a subtler lighting scheme with that same design.

This would annoy 99% of people.

I played around with my keyboard RGB and eventually I just used a static colour or a very slow fade between colours.

The light up on key press is super annoying

Pretty, but will become distracting real fast.

You’re paying premium for an instagram/reddit post, congratz.

Made by people thinking people are dumb and will by anything.

  7. All fun and games til you type yourself into a seizure

i have that effect but i chose to have all light on all the time so i can see what the fucking key is that.

  9. This would be cool to show to friends and visitors but other than that this will always be turned off. At least in my case.

My Roccat Vulcan does this, along with playing snake with the LEDs. But that would soon get tired/distracting, I just have it configured for static lighting.

  11. Isn’t it just a keycap set with normal RGB backlight

Jesus.. im not a big keyboard sound guy but that sounds amazing, best I have ever heard

When did people start discrimating against colors?

  14. Add a confirmation beep for each key press to make it even more distracting.

  15. Oh wow. How cool!

*Sets to constant blue at 10% brightness and never touches it again.*

  16. PlasticAngle

Imagine if it shock you every time you press it.

  17. watlington

I used to do this with my corsair keyboard but with bright blue and always on dim blue so it looked more like typing with water.

  18. As has been pointed out here, really cool but anointing to use, Love it though.

Anyhow, you could make it way cooler if you can make a script that just lights up the keys in a rigged line coming from the pressed key and then keep them lit for a small time to then fade out. Would make it look like lightning even more than it is now.

To make it less annoying, you can decrease the brightness to the lowest point so it doesn’t really light up anything except for the keys above the leds.

  19. It would look way more cool if the lightning arced down from the top to the specific keys being struck instead of a generic pattern across the whole keyboard.

My keyboard is at least 5 years old and it can do this, lol

Ah that pattern from Kang’s castle at the end of time
