At this point , NVIDIA 50 and 60 series of each generation gonna suck lol

  3. Prophetforhire

The 50 series is the budget model. This is like comparing a 1995 Porsche 911 to a 2024 Toyota yaris dude.

  4. dan_nessie

Nvidia are in the AI industry with gaming on the side.

  5. If I find a GTX 1080Ti somewhere in my local area I swear I’m gonna buy it and make myself a budget PC build for emulators, indie games and watch YouTube/movies on it, I’d say it’s worth it.

  6. Maximum_Stock3512

Wasnt 1080Ti also like 3x more expensive?

Insane that a modern $250 midrange card in 2025 still only offers about double the performance at roughly the same price (adjusted for inflation) of a RX 580 from….. A long time ago.

Nice that it offers roughly double the performance at roughly 60% the power draw, but the value….. Ick.

  8. HardStroke

Not really, the 5050 is usually a bit better.
If you take into consideration the prices, the 1080Ti blows it out of the water.
I know prices are different all over the world but in my country, a used 1080Ti goes for around $180 while a new 5050 goes for $420.

Mega cope. 1080ti consumes way more power and has no dlss support. In real world gaming the rtx 5050 smokes the 1080ti I bet.

And it has 3gb more VRAM

I’ve heard an add in the radio. It says something like “Just now, we’ve got gaming laptops with RTX 4050 bla bla…”. Is laptop with 4050 a gaming laptop?

What kind of graph is this? What is it measuring? Is it average temperature while browsing in chrome? Is it cyberpunk average fps in ultra settings? Is it 1080p frame rate for a random 2010 game in low settings? This doesn’t tell us anything.

I truly don’t want to defend Nvidia but even if this is a comparison of raw power, this would be neglecting the existence of important technologies like Ray tracing, DLSS, DSR, and overlooks the power consumption.

While I understand that you are trying to say that an 8 year old GPU shouldn’t be able to hold a candle to the new generations, you are misleading many people who might actually be on the market for a new GPU.

my fking god, this is real ?! bc its rlly bad then , instant of progress we got the inverse..

  14. KerbodynamicX

Does anyone even buy the 50-class cards? I thought 60-class is the bare minimum

  15. CarlsCarLOL

If we’re taking these numbers as fact, the 5050 is consuming almost have the power for nearly identical performance. Plus you get access to RTX. Y’all are delusional.

  16. Think_Speaker_6060

If this card was priced lower with all the new features it had, man this could be one of the best budget card. But Nvidia won’t do it anyway.

  17. WoodooTheWeeb

Wait isn’t this chart absolute bs? The 4070s isn’t anywhere close to the 7900xtx no? in raytracing sure but not anywhere else

  18. Damon853x

More importantly, the fucking 3060 is still better than a 5050 🤦‍♂️

  19. theblackyeti

Basically 1080ti performance with a hundred watts less is pretty sweet.
