Heh. Wait until your 40s, then the entire old group is gone, *but* you can game with kids/spouse.

It’s the same in your 20’s
Two of my friends are in med school so they’re dying from studying and stress, the other one went off grid 6 months ago and has been traveling, the other guy had a baby so he’s pretty much gone.
And I get to play twice a week for a few hours.
Adulting is brutal, man.

All honesty I’m in the same boat I used too talk to well over 150 people all of the time on steam. Life happened now I have maybe two people I talk to once in a while. Single player games take up the rest of the game time.

its almost like when you have wife and kids its harder to do what you want all the time or your priorities change.

You forgot about firing up your old rig itching to play and Steam no longer working in the first place.

Marriage is the true killer of friendships.
I encourage everybody who gets married to keep in touch with your old friends, so that when you almost-inevitably get divorced you still have a social safety net.
I have 3 people on my friendlist on Steam.
One I know IRL, One I used to see IRL but not anymore.
And one of who I don’t even know who he is. Some guy from Romania, he added me one day. We never talked. But I can see which games he plays… And when he buys a new game I’m like: Oh, nice. That’s a good game. And then I’m suddenly happy for a guy from Romania because he bought a game. Internet can be so weird.

After 25 your just squad up with randos for everything.
And yes, at least 1 will be AFK and the other will have no regard for team play and cooperation.

You really worked on all this comic to convey the most boring concept ever?
Are you OK?

Gaming in my 30s. I can afford the hardware but I can’t afford the time.

Yeeeeeeap. This is so accurate! Mid to late twenties it begins. You hit thirty and realize gaming is hitting different, but you can’t quite put your finger on it. Mid to late thirties you all but give up and by forty you are you’re own company, talking out loud to yourself and everything!

The best part about our gen is we all grew up and feeling the same things at the same time. The future gens will never have this same feeling with all the tech they are growing up with, who knows if they’ll stay in touch with it their entire life

For the last panel, my graveyard is literal.
I’ve had friends who have passed. The only thing I have to their memory is the username that slowly ticks away reminding me how long it’s been since I’ve seen them.
Sorry, not trying to be a downer. Instead, it just makes me reflect on my mortality every time I log into steam. Kind of existential.
