It wouldn’t be as bad if the OneDrive app sync’d better. If I don’t use it via browser my phone, PC, and laptop all have completely different views

How long before the whole os requires always online

Yeah, what a great way to ensure you actually lose your data if your harddrive dies on you 👍

”But I don’t want to be saved by a free and convinient service! I want the pain!”

  4. I hate it and people think is a good back up solution yuck.

  5. It took longer to make this meme than it takes to setup One Drive to do what’s being asked here.

/gamers, when OneDrive starts bugging up game saves

Other than that, I really like onedrive, been using it since it started, and I do not miss the days of having to back everything the fuck up to wipe a windows install.

  7. Again, even if you use onedrive, your documents are saved on your hadrdrive, in your documents folder. And they stay there unless YOU move them

  8. and then you fill up the One-drive and they offer you more space for additional money.

I ended up changing file names so my pics would go into their own location, on my hard drive and their backups.

i just uninstall onedrive and completely disable it

I have used OneDrive since the day it was free and even now on Linux, the program itself is fine. Switching to Proton drive for most stuff now, but Proton doesn’t have a spreadsheet editor.

Personally I always stores my personal folders on a different drive, like I actually moved my Download/Document/Photo’s etc folders on Windows

Is everyone in this sub tech illiterate.

You should have a cloud storage solution.

You are actually saving to your drive, but it makes a copy to the cloud. You can desactive by folders or just the whole thing if you don’t like to backup your shit.

When I fried my laptop I was happy I had my important files in OneDrive.

Now, I’m not saying you should use OneDrive. It can be a pain sometimes. But I highly recommend you to keep a backup of important files on a secondary location. Your house/apartment could burn down or your pc (and nas) can be stolen

I always press f12 so that I can select the directory directly.

I usually just uninstall it , it’s THAT easy .

  16. OneDrive is great for backing up my files… By which I mean my 4TB USB external WD OneDrive. That’s the only OneDrive I need.

Me, but with an Android phone, the Photos app, and Google Drive.
