Although I don’t think it’s necessary to have a “fish out of water” introductory to Mortal Kombat (again!), I honestly think this looks really great. Feels like this is the movie that should have been made 20 years ago. Like a more refined version of the first movie.

Looks good to me, not really sure why people are saying Karl isn’t great as Cage, i think he pulls it off well.
Clearly isn’t an A-List Cage in his 30s that is at the top of his game (like previous iterations) but an interesting take on it where he is a has-been that no one really cares about anymore, normal guy that gets pulled into the MK world and is drastically out of his depth.
The plot armor dude from the 1st film only appears once in the trailer, isn’t even in the backshots of the group shots, almost certainly going to die early with Cage set up to replace him in the next MK tournament i guess?
Kanos back though, thats a cause to celebrate.

This casting feels perfect to me. I’ve been playing Mortal Kombat since the 90s and honestly this is the most authentic the choas has gotten for me. Karl is awesome here because he’s a big deal in the real world but in this movie he’s such a out of place ham and it plays perfectly to who Johnny Cage was back in the day.

The pivot to Cage from Cole is a smart move. I couldn’t even enjoy the first movie because I couldn’t stop scowling at Cole wondering why this idiot was in the damn movie.

Eh I’m probably in the minority but I think it looks pretty damn cheesy. It looks as cheesy as the old mortal kombat movies just with a couple decades of technology progression.
The last one didn’t seem this cheesy imo but hey, it’s just an opinion I could be wrong.

It looks like Johnny is going to spend most of the movie without powers, I’m guessing they’ll save his powers for the end of the movie?
I still don’t get any they choose to make Cole Young a new character and not just have him be Kuai Liang/Sub Zero 2. Like literally the rest of the first movie could have been identical he should have just got ice powers instead of armour powers.
