If you want to spend/waste several thousand hours in a game you could pick up civ6 and all the expansions for free. After several hundred hours I'm still learning new things. Great depth, perhaps overwhelming once all the dlcs are added on and some poorly explained mechanics. But for free you certainly can't complain.

  1. I don’t care how many games Epic gives.. Fuck them and the horse they rode in on…
Really.. I have yet to get anything from them..

    Also Civ V is legit..

Last good game that they gave was dead Island 2

Not free. For my country at least. Don’t care too much as I will never have time to play it anyway.

  4. OP do you have a link? Since I don’t see it as free

I’ve been playing civ 6 on netflix. Damn near ruin my life.

I’ll download Epic Store, remember my login, sign in and grab this and still buy it on steam later because I forgot epic store exists.

  7. Steam Workshop mods are one of the many reasons I prefer that version. Fortunately, I was able to get the same package for a few Euros on sale.

Isn’t there an Anthology edition with even more DLCs?

  9. morbihann

Might as well do it. I don’t really use epic at all but do collect games that I never play there.

  10. How does epic game store even make money at this point

  11. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I was under the impression that the Platinum Edition is NOT the complete edition, i.e. it does not have all the expansions. For that you’d need the Anthology Bundle.

    Still a great freebie though!

I enjoyed civ6 a lot, I played this version over on steam.

Civ did a season pass thing with a bunch of DLC spread out over a year after their first 2 major expansions so this version isn’t complete but it has most of the gameplay mechanics, you are missing random faction/leader DLC.

I’ve been playing Age of Wonders 4 recently.

It’s a sort of fantasy civilization style game but you move stacks of up to 6 units at a time on the strategic layer and then it goes into tactical maps for the battles (up to 18 vs 18)

Age of Wonders 4 is very combat focused but the combat is excellent. It has line of seight with height, cover, destructible stuff, flanking, seige equipment, bodies that can be reanimated, almost every unit has an interesting activated ability with a cooldown and eldritch mage heroes can have so many you have to scroll through them.

If you like civ6 but wish the combat was better I highly recommend it.

In the meantime enjoy civ6, it has an excellent tutorial and I highly recommend it for anyone getting into strategie games!

  13. Never used Epic. Do I just go create a free Epic account at epicgames.com and then can download Civ VI for free? Sounds too good to be true. Haha

  14. Ok-Friendship1635

It’s NOT free yet. It will be free in a few hours.

Free civ 6=RIP to my sleep schedule for the next month”

  16. This is the closest I have ever gotten to creating an epic store account

Why can’t they do this on apple’s App Store?
