Im pretty sure you can craft the perfect map, put it in the pool, and it would still rank lower than Mirage / D2. The CS community always been like that. First game in today in Premier everyone immediately banned Overpass, refusing to try out the changes, and instead picked mirage only to bitch at each other.

Didn’t like Anubis at all. I like train, wish I could play it more to improve, but since it’s a defacto veto for what seems to be 90% of the player base, it might as well go soon, too.

I love that the professional map pool gets balanced by data gathered from a pug gamemode designed to mimic the professional play.

Sorry, but unless you remove mirage or dd2 or both, you will not see a shake up in map pick popularity in premier simple as that.

3 million games, Train comfortably the least picked so we won’t remove it or make any changes to it but instead replace the 2nd least played map instead, for a map that was played less than Vertigo when it was removed and has received 1/one/uno change since it was removed.

I’m glad it’s out, it felt bad. I don’t care about premier stats otherwise and honestly, this is based on a large group of people with a low elo median. Train is still new in and will likely see more updates for balance, so far it’s decent, not my first ban nor pick but like to play it occasionally. I think the reason people avoid it is because it’s difficult for scrubs and most people are comfortable playing already existing maps.
Is overpass better? Meh, just did two premiers on it and it felt like the old op, just boring. Still better than anubis tho. I just hate how people are tryharding it so much on 25k+ and likely gonna be the same in faceit 3k elo now. The map is big and slow…
Anubis is a great competitive map to play and watch and I’ll die on that hill. Light years ahead of train, inferno, or mirage right now.

Looking at stats from the pro scene shows a different story. Premier is always going to skew heavy on mirage and D2. I don’t really have an opinion on the change but ppl seem to underestimate how popular it was.

Can’t you balance around having more maps in pool by having more veto/bans whatever? With cache (hopefully) on the line I would rather have a broader variety than seasonal variety of one map..

You’re allowed to like this map. You can even say it was your favorite map. But this map is a bad map in its current state.
When 4 CT rounds is considered a good CT half, there’s a fucking problem.
You’re also allowed to hate mirage and dust. I too dislike those maps. But Anubis HAD to go.

Fuck it I just wanted Inferno gone. I don’t care about stats. I don’t care about popularity. I don’t care about any arguments. Inferno fucking sucks. It’s the only map you’ll see a full save at $8k or during a pistol round
I don’t get this fondness for Anubis. Trash map and most unbalanced in the game. Whoever plays T first wins. And the map just sucks to play as CT.
I was not expecting Anbus to be taken out.
this is why my proudest acheivement of season 2 is only 2 mirage maps played.
Kind of wish premier map picks were just random.
