If uBlock Origin or Adblock were forced disabled by chrome,
win + r go to Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome
if you dont have those 2 folders, create them inside Policies
Right click – New – Key , name Google second one make it inside Google and name it Chrome
Inside Chrome folder right side, right click new d-word 32b name it to ExtensionManifestV2Availability set value to 2, restart Chrome, everything should be back and enabled.
temporary fix until they force remove them entirely

-Edit-
Step 1
Open Registry Editor with windows key + r (run) type regedit press enter
Step 2
GoTo Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Policies\Google\Chrome
Step 3
If you dont have the folders Google/Chrome, create them inside Policies by right clicking New Key and renaming them accordingly. (Note : Chrome should be created inside Google)
Step 4
After you created both folders Google/Chrome click on Chrome, go to the right side and right click then NEW, DWORD 32
Step 5
Rename the newly created dword into ExtensionManifestV2Availability and set the value to 2
Step 6
Restart Chrome, the disabled extensions should now be enabled.
Step 7
Enjoy.

I just used the inspect tool to re-enable the button to install it again

  2. Helixdust

“Daddy google, please let me use ublock origin” Switch to Firefox already ffs

  3. StomachAromatic

You could just use any browser besides Chrome…

  4. KineticNinja

Can I ask what the point of editing the registry is when you can just “load unpacked” extension from the uBO github?

Does this have any advantage over just adding the extension manually using chrome in developer mode?

  5. i switched from google chrome 5 months ago and never looked back. complete garbage.

  6. shehitsdiff

Too much work. Switch to Firefox, Edge, hell even Opera or DuckDuckGo are infinitely better.

Why do y’all still use chrome? Just use a different browser and change the search engine to Google if you really care that much. That way you still “Google” things but don’t have to deal with any of that bullshit.

  7. RadElert_007

Google Chrome users will reinvent the wheel from scratch before switching to Firefox lmfao

  8. Here is the fix for now. But I say just switch to Firefox now. But if ya wanna stay here it is

    chrome://flags/#temporary-unexpire-flags-m137 [Enabled]

**Then restart Chrome and you can set:**

    chrome://flags/#extension-manifest-v2-deprecation-warning [Disabled]
    chrome://flags/#extension-manifest-v2-deprecation-disabled [Disabled]
    chrome://flags/#extension-manifest-v2-deprecation-unsupported [Disabled]
    chrome://flags/#allow-legacy-mv2-extensions [Enabled]

This works for now no messing with regedit…

  9. QuasimodoPredicted

You are in a abusive relationship. Seek help and ditch that asshole.

  10. Shotokant

Just don’t use Chrome. Use a better Web browser.

  11. Punchinballz

People would rather die than just switching to FF wtf…

  12. ExtraGloves

Ublock origin lite in working fine. Just set the options correctly.

  13. MrMoussab

Until it stops working again? I don’t get people, just switch to Firefox.

  14. Historical-Ad-2238

Just drop chrome. Google is a trash company time to move back to Mozilla

  15. FuckSpezzzzzzzzzzzzz

You can also just get ublock origin lite. Been using it for a day now and haven’t noticed any difference between it and the og. It even blocks twitch ads without triggering it’s ad block protection.

  16. SzKristof1

I did this to all our computers and laptops so that my family members can keep using chrome. I already switched to firefox but explaining it to my 70+ grandpa would be a bit of a challenge.

  17. I switched to uBlock origin lite, still pretty good

  18. God damn a Crazy regedit instead of simply download FF

  19. Do you realize that this will work only until Google will remove the MV2 code from Chrome completely?

    You are delaying the inevitable.

  20. Just move along people, This will work for like a short while, why extend what is inevitable, and move to any other browser that has the functions. Its so easy to move browsers.

  21. Fone_Linging

So much effort to circumvent a shitty software’s shitty practice when Firefox and Brave both exist.

People have way to much free time.

  22. no it’s time to drop google alltogether, search goes only for ads, browser turning off adblock, YouTube player issues, I wonder what’s next? I bet you will need a chrome premium for using it’s base features

  23. I was already using firefox as a “side browser” (I need two cos of reasons) and when I got the “ublock and umatrix extensions aren’t supported anymore” I panicked at first, went to find a way to turn them back on, did a backup of all my chrome extensions and moved everything to firefox lol. The only extension I don’t have here is a tab audio recording one (which was quite useful, tbh) and one that basically was a xmas countdown with lots of wallpapers everytime a new tab was opened…I can live without them and I don’t have to worry anymore about having to find workarounds for google’s fucking **shit**. And on the plus side, I now have an animated sleepy Hatsune Miku on the top right, which is lovely.

Can I also say, WHY didn’t I know extensions could be used on firefox mobile?! I’d checked last years ago and never bothered again but holy shit, ublock and stuff on my *mobile* browser?? I’ve already told my parents and sis to switch to FF lol.

  24. Last time this happened to me I just removed it and re added it to chrome and that worked

  25. LG-Moonlight

This is only a Chrome problem.

Use a real browser like Firefox or Brave.

  26. Ever since I switched to a password manager that isn’t browser-based (ie bitwarden) I’ve been so much more browser agnostic.
I already use Firefox but it’s nice to be able to hop in Edge if I need to visit a site like swagbucks that requires tracking while still being able to use my password manager.

  27. Neontanshuk

Just use edge, has all benefits of chromium and has good tracking protection as well. Doesn’t hv problems of firefox not being able to run some sites properly

  28. brnjikurdy

Stop it with the switch to firefox nonsense, chrome’s performance is still superior and what’s wrong with uBlock Origin Light? It works just fine on chrome.

  29. Meanwhile me on Brave, with my still working Ublock, eating popcorns :]

  30. grabber4321

Bro, you are using Chrome – adblock not gonna help you. You are LITERALLY being tracked by the browser itself.

  31. me-be-bored

Still working perfectly on brave without doing all that

  32. TheGoldblum

Just switch to Brave. No need to add any 3rd party blockers

  33. Powerful_Deer7796

Use brave if you insist on using chromium. It blocks all this misery by default.
