I feel like if you're a fan of cyberpunk visuals and themes, you're probably going to enjoy M3gan 2.0. I think the first half is a bit slow to get going, but I was still pretty invested in all the babble about AI and technology in general. The action goes way harder than I was expecting it to. M3gan literally does martial arts, including Kung Fu poses and even a scene of her doing the IP Man moves against a Wing Chun training dummy. We get to see actually well choregraphed fight scenes, including robot vs humans, cyborg vs humans and robot vs robot.
I implore ANYONE who can stomach the lighter tone and humor to seriously check it out. I feel like this will become a cult classic in a couple years once everyone who needs to see it probably will, because I was not even that interested in checking it out due to all the negative reviews. But, I feel like the people whining about M3gan 2.0 not being horror probably didn't realize M3gan 1.0 was barely horror to begin with, let's be real. I mean, fair enough if you prefer horror, but just go in expecting something lighter and fun and just appreciate the spectacle.
Movies were made for this chaos and clash of genres.

I saw a review of it and I had to check the original out on IMDb to se what the original was. Interesting that it changed genres But you’re right, it was kind of cyberpunk to begin with.
I went to the cinema to see it and i had great fun. The genre switching was bold and didn’t resonate with most, but the core concept and message (which i was interested in even in the first film) stayed the same imo.
I’m watching it now. To be honest, the plot is a bit cliche, but I don’t mind. I like any movie with robots.
There is all kinds of AI and AI tools used in big budget films nowadays but I bet this sub doesnt care if it something maintream that the average normie talks about. AI used by massive coporations is good here exspecially if its mainstream so we can all talk about to fit in, but the smallercreator, etc. using AI to help them get ahead is bad. Gotcha.
I was not tracking a genre change. I’m now very curious to see this film

I can’t believe more people don’t like it. I thought it was awesome. I hope they make a third one.
