This was the “rule nobody knew about”…though ALL the comments were F1 fans pointing out that it’s an incredibly well-known rule because back in the 1997 European GP there was a three-way tie for pole where Jacques Villeneuve, Michael Schumacher and Heinz-Harald Frentzen all got the exact same time during quali.
