If they asked which one is the better version of cs, i think we would have gotten maybe interesting answers on the current state of cs2. I think maybe this was the intention of the question?

Which game is better vs which game you prefer … are two very different questions.
LAN cs2 in a good PC might be miles better than csgo but i wouldn’t know.

Imo really depends on playstyle. If you are aggressive rifle who likes swinging corner 2 is better if you are more passive player who likes swinging corner holding angles or AWPing GO is better

Refreshing to actually see people say they prefer CS2 for once but like u/Pokharelinishan said with their answers and the way the question is phrased it doesn’t nececarily mean they think the actual game is better. All of them can very much be saying “I’ve got better and am having more success as a player/career”
Still tho it seems like all I see for CS2 is overwhelming hate and people act like CS is dead/abandoned despite how viewed, successful ,and entertaining events like Austin are. It released in a bad state that definetly felt like a downgrade from CSGO in a majority of ways even in things like the”better” graphics actually making some skins worse and hurting their value. *(Overall the graphics are a great change tho IMO)*
I do not play nearly as competitively or frequently as I used to as a teenager back in 2014-2017. While I always warmup, give it my all, and take the game as competetively as possible I am not amazing or high ranked but I still have just as much if not more fun soloqueueing nuke games at GNM rank with randoms as I did grinding hundreds of hours in comp as a teenager with my online buddies.
While some people may not see it as significant or enough I feel that have made very meaningful impactful changes that felt minor at the time but still received praise and while pace has been slow gradually theyve made the game feel significantly better over time compared to when it released.
The recent recoil fixes have been tremendously praised and made the game and specifically spray transfer feel a lot more consistent and reliable for people who were able to in CSGO but found it too inconsistent to rely on in CS2. The jump fixes were very impactful to the movement feeling a lot better and more consistent. They nugt gave I dont specifically remember either one of these changes being mentioned in patch notes but the subtick netcode, and actual game performance while still having problems and can still use significant upgrades; do feel a lot better since the release of the game for me and other people in the sub.
I’m sure I dont play consistently or enough to notice or at least personally experience and have repeated issues/frustrations that other people are experiencing and there are still plenty of valid criticisms I personally can make about the game but overall as a competitive game I feel CS2 has improved significantly and the same was CSS was hated at first, and then CSGO launched in a horrible state and was rightfully hated it eventually evolved into what I and other consider to be one of the best games of all time and I think CS2 could have used more time in the oven and maybe launched without killing CSGO entirely but I still think its a reliably blast of an experience to play that I rarely experience genuine issue, problems, glitches, or inconsistencies with and it amazes me to see how universally hated CS2 seems to be by this sub and anyone I know who went hard grinding comp in CSGO.
It’s not perfect by any means and without a doubt deserve a majority if not all of the criticism it receives. But people act like the game is unplayably broken in this sub or when I ask if they want to start playing CS again.
That new soccer game “Rematch” is one of the most embarrassing live service game launches I have seen with so many core design problems with the outside support system of the game like bad netcode, no button rempaing on controller, broken queues etc, etc yet the actual core game is fantastically fun and I have seen literally nothing but overwhelming praise for the game despite how abysmally worse it is than something like CS and deserves to be torn a part by critics/reviews. Maybe they get downvoted once and dont share their opinion again but I have not seen literally ANYONE like me say “hey actually I dont really have any issues and I have just as much fun as I always did” but CS players DO NOT like change or at least not drastic change and CS2 is nothing but so I once again I understand the criticism/hate and do think it’s well deserved, I’m just amazed how it seems to appear I’m the only person in the world having a good time and rarely if ever having issues.

Cs2 things to fix for me: anticheat, netcode, bring back tick (64tick felt better than subtick for me), repair movement, black collor is missing, game feels like having only shades of gray instead of black. Better optimisation or idk, game is cpu heavy and hard to maintain high fps (1% lows) compared to csgo.

I’ve been in thus sub since 2016~ and it’s funny how nothing changes.. people always complained about CSGO being unplayable, shots not hiting, awp shots with crosshair right on the body not hitting, you die while strafing (not seeing enemy on screen), and we get fresh people here, that get used to this shit mentality, and it’ll never stop..
It’s important that community get together and try to get a better version of the game, but just “i miss csgo”, “cs2 is unplayable” pisses me off.. just ranting i guess…

How about actually asking more players who played both games in Tier 1 for most of their careers like Karrigan, ropz, zywoo, NiKo, Aleksi, TwistZz, REZ etc
Asking people like Ultimate and their answer is basically ‘I was given a spot in a Tier 1 team in CS2 so I like it more’ is so stupid.
