  1. Yeah, I hate randomly watching something, only for similar videos to fill up 50% of my feed for WEEKS.

Hey, Youtube, just because I watched a video one time doesn’t mean it’s something I want to be watching daily.

yeahhh I’ve had to use different Google accounts for different interests. Watch one video about programming and YouTube thinks that’s my whole life now

Fun fact, this is how YouTubers find what works/doesn’t work in their niche. Fresh account/Incognito, watch 1 video and then spam refresh your homepage.

  4. yup, and ill click the 3 dots, click not interested then see the exact same video for days every time i refresh the page

I do my best to avoid War Thunder videos for exactly this. That and trackmania which seems to be entirely just one guy uploading trackmania videos.

Reddit has the same problem. I ask a question on google and usually the first link with the answer is a reddit post, so i click it, read it, close it, and then reddit proceeds to give me more posts from that subreddit with that answer. This is why when i research something, i use a private window so it doesn’t connect with my social media accounts. Then reddit wonders why about half of its traffic comes from people not logged in.

I watch one mildly right-wing video and YouTube is like: here’s Ben Shapiro, female Ben Shapiro, and Critical Drinker.

But that’s what you have “Clear all watch history” for.

  8. Marcel is a great guy, have been following him for a few years now. I loved playing RCT 1 when growing up 😀

I’m a big fan of those recommendations to watch a video from 11 years ago, from a channel that is still actively uploading, but not the video they published 5 hours ago /s

It’s part of the reason I avoid anything remotely political on YouTube. It can take so long to get your front page purged of extreme political views you are often better off just starting over with a new account.

At the same time, miss a single video from a channel you are subscribed to and watch every week and they disappear from your feed. Worse yet if they don’t upload regularly, you just have no idea they even uploaded a new video until you think about them months later and wonder why they stopped making videos only to check their channel and find dozens of videos that you were never told about.
