i just finished act 1 and really wanted to get her gun, but im not sure whether i should pick it up now, or whether to let its stats scale, and if i pick it up now can i upgrade it all the time or does it stay at my low level forever?

You can upgrade the iconic guns
all iconics can be upgraded all the way to 5++ at the crafting menu
so pick them up when you find them
