FireWire is a bit before my time. Our school computers definitely had the sockets, but I never saw one used.
What was FireWire most commonly used for? Was it a direct predecessor to USB?

Forced to use the OG FireWire, I absolutely despise it. Stops working at random and starts working again just as random.
(Might be because I bought my FireWire card on Amazon tho.)

My new PSU has a 12VHPWR port and it’s nice not messing with adapters.
