Facts. Maybe it’s just because I grew up on this stuff, but most animation from this era had a grittier tone. And don’t get me wrong, I love modern anime, but it’s become really saturated with dreadful stories featuring very simple plots and little to no character development, which is okay. I enjoy a good OP male power fantasy now and then. Also, I can definitely say that, for the most part, the quality of animation has improved, which has been great. That said, I really do miss the older formats of not only anime, but TV in general.
