Just when I think the game is almost over another entire region opens up to explore. Massive game that really deserved better than what it got. Sadly, the sequel was canceled… Anyone else love this game?

Was it really underrated? For me it was massive zones, with a boring and annoying way of travel, and then when you finally got to your location, it was all same ol’ same ol’. There were no new mechanics that changed the way you played throughout the entire game and just about no new enemies other than the ones you met from the start.

Just because a game is big doesn’t make it good.

This is my favourite Playstation studios game that they have on PC.

Agree is fun as hell, killing hordes on hardest modes was terrifying

  4. Shatter_starx

Sounds like stalker, thx im gonna check it out

For me it’s overrated. Too big and boring. Traversal was a drag, I never finished it.

Classic situation where game becomes old enough to be called underrated, legendary, classic, masterpiece and so on, always the same story.

  7. Remnant_Echo

I wouldn’t call it underrated. It’s fun for short durations but gets boring quickly.

Also it had a terrible launch. Constant visual bugs and crashes, random hordes teleporting in while driving/walking, etc. etc.. All that along with the creative director saying “woke reviewers” were causing people to review bomb the game rather than owning up to a lack of QA at Bend Studios helped cement the sequel cancellation.

I enjoyed it as a whole but the writing was really weird. Everyone just spoke in a way that was…off?

Most annoying part was the fuel running out. It was fun for a while but got boring pretty fast

if they canceled days gone 2 its cause the first one didnt make enough money

maybe they spent more than they made on the game.

Deacon yelling while he’s on the bike but the other characters speaking monotone really threw me off. Game felt empty. Looting felt useless. Story was meh. Decon voice actor was good, but the others didn’t really fit well with him.

I can live without Days Gone 2, but that assumes State of Decay actually gets better.

Its a great game. Loved it. But wtf is this picture? I don’t remember Deacon wearing that get up

Days Gone 2 was never canceled because you can’t cancel a game that was never greenlit in the first place.

As far as the apocalyptic genre goes, it’s easily in the top 5. The Last of Us has a better story, but exploring and the survival aspect is really fun in Days Gone. And the story is still interesting. Extremely underrated actually.

I still remember that time I strolled into that big lumbar mill and woke up a massive horde. Fkers were coming from everywhere.

It is one of my favorite games of all time.

  18. When it launched it looked like another generic zombie game when they were already abundant so idgaf. Should probably get it for cheap on steam and try it.

Every time I see something about this game I always stop by to let people know it was such an awesome game. After I beat it the first time I remember going online and finding out that people actually didn’t like the game for some reason.

Loved fighting the hordes, everything else was bland and boring. Had to drop it near the end, watched the final part on YT. It had potential for a sequel, tho.

Wait why tf does your game looks so good

  22. itakeitupthebutt

Honestly, it was one of the most alright games I’ve ever played

  23. Zinski2

Underrated? Ehn. I feel like it was pretty accurately rated when it came out.

They did put some work it to fixing it up but I mean it’s still a 710 yeah know

  24. Great_Uncle_Fester

The gameplay was really solid. So was the map and exploration. Having a bike made me not want to fast travel at all. The story could have been better. There were several characters that I feel I like we missed plot points on and were supposed to care more about. It’s definitely my favorite zombie game next to dying light.

The second half of the game was too much making the game too long, although I really respect what they’ve been able to achieve with this game. It must have been a crazy amount of work. A more condensed experience would probably have been better for everyone. Why did they can the successor though?

  26. blak000

Absolutely awesome game. When I first tried playing it, I gave up out of disinterest. A couple years later gave it a shot and was completely sucked in. It’s a game that takes a little while to pick up, but just keeps getting better the deeper you go. So much satisfaction at the end when you’re just decimating these giant hordes that you were previously scared to death of.

  27. Terrible_Chair_6371

it’s not jesus christ who is paying these people to make these posts. deacon st. james, that’s the name of the main character and side kick, boozer. dealing with the non-zombies, freakers, in an assassins creed type world. That’s the entire gimmick of this game, it doesn’t improve on the concept, does nothing creative, and has the most pretentious voice acting of a Sony studio. There is a reason no one picked it up, even free, you can see the entirety of the game play in the first 2 hours.

Personally, it’s a mixed bag. It’s overhyped and underrated at the same time. But I definitely enjoyed my playthrough a couple of years ago.

  29. Cloud_N0ne

Nah. It’s a good game, but “underrated”? No. It’s appropriately rated.

It’s just a worse Last of Us imo.
