Yeah, that thing was ticking me off. I died so many times during that mission. Drove me crazy. But then I was like, “*Finally*! A challenge!” (Playing hard difficulty)

ETA: I just played that for the first time today.

Every replay I’ll only use Bloody Maria just to make this quicker cause fuck this thing.

  3. ShelLuser42

There are a few reasons why I prefer siding with So Mi, and well… not having to deal with this thing is one of those 😉

  4. OGCycloPhile

That thing was well worth the jump scares. I don’t even mind getting killed so often.

I don’t know what I liked more, the claw coming out of my belly from the back or the one pulling my face off

I died 7 times in a row and decided that song bird deserved to go to the moon and reid was wrong. Went back to a previous save that was 10 hrs prior and got her to the damn moon lol

Yeah, the first time I went the Reed path, I was curious about this. And it surprised me exactly one time. Turns out the thing spawns and despawns as if it was hooked up to an atomic clock, and if you have at least a few stealth perks, this whole segment turns into a pretty boring fetch quest. You can hear exactly when it spawns, you can hear exactly when it despawns, and if you have a good timekeeping ability, and a good enough pattern recognition to do the hacking, it’s chill.

Storywise tho I definitely hope that this whole rogue AI thing will get expanded on in the next game, because this and the Peralez storyline is very intriguing.

I hate that thing, enough to install a mod that makes it stupid

  8. Ripper1337

I died so many times trying to hack a terminal while it was in the other room.

Other times we just played merry-go-round around a table to avoid it detecting me.

  9. ET_Gamer_

The devs were clearly fans of Alien: Isolation. Also Black Wall Rogue AI’s.

  10. DeltaFargo

It’s all fun and games until Action/RPG suddenly switches to Horror/Survival

  11. BeastBoom24

When I first encountered this, I had flashbacks to playing Metroid Dread for the first time.

  12. Anticlimatic shit honestly. You can’t even hack it, that’s a wasted opportunity tbh.

  13. You ever see those liveleak factory accidents, well now you get an up close experience😅

  14. MusicHearted

I literally went back several autosaves and changed sides so I wouldn’t have to deal with this thing. I have no desire to ever see either ending that involves surviving this awful place.

  15. You know how CDPR billed PL as a “spy-thriller” story?

    This is the “thriller” part.

**WEVE BEEN TRYING TO REACH YOU ABOUT YOUR CARS EXTENDED WARRANTY**

  17. Nervous_Company8619

Did you know if you have gorilla arms to mantis blades it changes how you kill it compared to any other arm cybernetics

  18. Veltsu675

Yeah you need to hide every time you activate something and don’t forget to get the blackwall hack blueprint and the gun schematic from one of the labs

  19. the_weird_days

FUCK, fine. I’ll fucking play this game again.

This Is the work of an enemy stand!!!!?!

no really, *possessed mining robots meant for hardened, inhospitable conditions aren’t exactly the easiest to fight with small arms fire, expectially when controlled by rogue AU smarter than humans (pretty much techno gods of this era) who can flash fry your brain scanners style in a PICOsecond…*

    yeah…>.>

  21. preyforkevin

Yep. I got stuck on this for a while. I didn’t want to look up a route. I eventually had to.

  22. PancakeParty98

Am I the only one who thought this thing was pretty fucking trivial? Aside from BS like it emerging on top of me it was easier than most things to avoid.

  23. ThatInternetBoi

Soloing Adam fucking Smasher is fine, but this random robot is just too powerful

  24. ReaperKingCason1

Who made that invincible death robot and said “Yeah, that would make a good maintenance bot”

  25. FeelingVanilla2594

I found a little shortcut in the storage room where you get erebus blueprint. You can skip the terminals at the beginning if you crawl up the vents in that room. You land on the bridge where you have to run. Saves a little scary time. But you still have to do the last group of terminals.

  26. Aostentatious

I was all like hell yeah! Let’s get these weapons! But then I didn’t have the stat checks to get them so it was just suffering 🙁

  27. Ultranerdgasm94

The sudden genre shift to survival horror was jarring.

  28. Boysenberry_17

I didn’t find the difficulty or horror of it. It was cool that it’s inescapable death if you’re caught but other than that I breezed by. Only panicked when I missed the Canto Mk. 6 and reloaded a save to get it

  29. WhiteDevil-0096

… and that’s why I’ve never betraying Songbird again ever since the first time that I did this mission. I know this is where you get either Canto or Erebus here, but I don’t wanna deal with that ever again.

  30. Michcole92

Rbh I’m about to replay that whole mission because I fucking missed the blackwall virus quick hack when I went through the mission and was stuck with the smg

  31. LivingEnd44

It’s terrifying the first time. It’s tedious every time after that.

It’s completely invulnerable to any damage. You can’t circumvent it. You can’t find novel ways to get around it or defeat it. You will be jumping through the exact same hoops on every playthrough.
