The problem here is that **Legendary is far too easy to reach now**. For instance:
* there are far too many rank shields flying around
* there are far too many rank protection events
* there are far too many bot lobby invites
The list could go on. Either way, even just the above 3 factors is causing Legendary to be a cesspit of skill disparity as well as toxic attitudes yet uneducated issues being directed towards the matchmaking. I thought all types of kills counted in TDM.

Maybe he is a troll for both teams. Yours in the sense that he threw the match and tanked it for a loss on your records. A troll for the enemy in the sense that if your team won, the enemy would have to live with the fact that they lost despite one enemy having over 70 deaths.
Maybe he is just trying to see how many times it is possible to die in a game.
