But they have announced that IEM Kraków is replacing the Katowice from 2026, so what is this even about? Have someone forget about in the marketing team? Or will we have two events in Poland now?

I’m so confused.
So Krakow aims to replace Kato in terms of prestige
And Kato will now be considered a “smaller” esl event?
If they intended to do this, they should at the very least skipped Kato for 2026 honestly

I am so confused, they still have Krakow announcement pinned. There is no way we get both right?

So much confusion. The community tends to highlight which tournaments hold the most prestige by the end of the day. Tournament formats often aren’t that much different in ESL outside of pro league, so if this is a tournament with an arena then what makes it any different? Less prize pool? The only guys that will mention that are the guys looking to dog the guys who won. They can advertise it differently but I just don’t see the reasoning.
If it’s gonna be like pro league then sure I guess, but it isn’t katowice

If they put pro league in the Spodek it could get the prestige they pretend it had.
Especially as the last few years of Katowice just felt odd… It’s just didn’t feel like an event the size of cologne at all
