What makes it even worse is that, some of the time, you can actually call them out on the things they’re doing being a terrible idea that sounds too good to be true (ex. Jackie sitting at the noodle bar), and the writers hung a big ol’ foreshadowing lampshade on the whole thing for you. And you can’t do dick about it.

Walking out of the bathroom at the No-Tell motel sideways so you can catch Dex’s hustle throwing the punch, and the plot system turning you away anyways… 😡😡😡🤬🤬
I tend to get a little shittier in the dialogue toward those people in subsequent play throughs. 😂
