Video Gamers Europe statement on Video Games Europe

“Private servers are not always a viable alternative option for players as the protections we put in place to secure players’ data, remove illegal content, and combat unsafe community content would not exist and would leave rights holders liable. In addition, many titles are designed from the ground-up to be online-only; in effect, these proposals would curtail developer choice by making these video games prohibitively expensive to create.”

    Rofl. Fuck these [clowns](https://www.pcgamer.com/gaming-industry/european-game-publisher-group-responds-to-stop-killing-games-claims-these-proposals-would-curtail-developer-choice/).

It’s a bit more wordy than needed.

    “Fuck Off” should be enough.

The even more brief “Cunts” is also an option.

You sure this isn’t the video games American statement??

  4. Of course corpos are concerned about money…not like they already spend a shit ton on ventures that fail or get cancelled anyways…

Just making the server source code open source is enough.
And not requiring single player games to authenticate online.

That’s all that is fucking needed

Unpopular opinion, but a group consisting mainly of US companies shouldn’t have any say in how European regulation is set. So, pardon my French, but “Fuck off.”

What about single player games, like Assassin’s Creed 4, GTA V, and RDR2 requiring an internet connection to play them when they’re literally single player fucking games. The console versions don’t have to deal with this and can be played offline.

We shouldn’t have online DRMs, or at least only have them check ownership a single time online when initially launching for the first time ever, then never again to avoid needing internet to play an offline game.

R*’s severs were once down for nearly 2 weeks and nobody could even play because of their own fault.

If any single thing had to get passed from Stop Killing Game, I hope it ends up being to make online DRMs illegal. This should include older games too, not just new ones. NO ONLINE DRMs.

Sorry, but I honestly have no idea what Video Games Europe is or why it matters.

What’s important, though, is that the Stop Killing Games initiative reaches anyone in the EU who’s pushing anti-consumer policies.

Am I wrong, or is that the main point?

“Video Games Europe”: It’s all the american shithole corporations that are the main reason for this movement like Activision and EA.
