guys, hi! I have a problem with ddr4 on 5800x3d. A friend gave me 5800x3d (he upgraded to am5). The configuration is as follows: tuf gaming x570 plus wifi, 5800x3d, crucial ballistix 3000cl15. Previously, I overclocked dd4 to 3800cl18 (I could have overclocked it to cl16, but I was too lazy). right now the system doesn't start if I put >3200. that is, 3200 is the limit. I've set cl14, of course, but the latency doesn't please. Can you tell me what should I do, or is this the limit of the chip?

    Type of RAM, SR,DR, amount , Bios version. Micron E-die can do 3800Mts easy with dual stick not with 4. Could be that the IMC is weak needs more stable SOC voltages. You are really pushing it with that Crucial 3000, 3600 maybe stable try that with a manual stable DDR voltage and SOC. Safe SOC voltage I use are 1.120V running dual 64GB trident Zneos 3600Mts CL16.

    Here are my e-die settings on 5800X3D before upgrading to 9800X3D, stable for multiple years.

    If it doesn’t work, try to reinstall bios, reset CMOS – could be a bios issue, for example on my x570 motherboard sometimes rebar didn’t work until I reinstalled bios.

    Have you tried 3200+mhz with auto timings? Dont tighten them until you have found your preferred frequency. If it does not boot like that either, try different (lower) vddp voltage. It is the one responsible for “memory holes” (where you cannot boot) and adjusting it will shift those holes. I use 865mV for 3800mhz..same cpu. You may also want to increase the memory voltage up to 1.45v if needed.

    Enable GDM (Geardown mode) makes it easier to get timings stable. (Can try to disable again when you have hit your frequency target)

    Loosen primary timings (tCL 16 tRCD(RD) 20 tRC 60) and tRFC so it would be ~300ns (tRFC 570 would be 300ns for 3800MT/s 560 for 3733…)

    Other timings should work on Auto.

    Find the max stable FCLK, likely around 1900Mhz or lower. And try to sync the memory with it (2x of the FCLK value because of DDR = double data rate).

    After that you can start tightening timings. (For Micron only tCL will scale with ram voltage) (I’m running 4x8Gb rev-e at 3733MT/s CL15 with 1.47V, CL16 took ~1.385V)

    dual rank and CL14…… you could relax it to cl15 and try 3600

    your IOD might need 990-1000mv

    also, CLDO VDDP is crazy high.

    try .890mv and you will see how it surprisingly works…. don’t degrade the analog porion of the chip with noise “just because”

    once you do that, ProcODT could go down 1-2 notches, too.

    and try rttnom /7 AT LEAST

    and rttpark is crazy strong…. did you verify you actually need it? I guess it could go rzq/5

    addrcmdsetup 60 wil not hurt at 3600, too.

    if you start having cold boot issues -> ckesetup goes from 0 to 1…..3
