  1. Do I need to upgrade my pc? Probably not. Do I want to? Absolutely.

Do I need a curved screen AIO and cool ring RGB NZXT fans? No.

Do I want them because they look cool ? Hell yeah.

I feel this. I’m rocking what I would call a pretty solid PC but I’m still finding myself looking at the newest CPUs I got the 7800 x3d honestly really don’t need a 9800 but I kind of want one cuz for reasons

**Finally installs all the hardware for a new build, tweaks the software to make it as efficient as possible.**

    “Now I can finally play…”

    **researches new components**

I put a soundcard and extra RAM in my PC not because I needed it, but because I thought it looked cool.

If I have extra PCIe and RAM slots I’m gonna USE THEM

Accurate. Already considering either a 5080 Super or 5090 by the end of the year

Because technology progresses and I want to play my games.

I wonder how many people actually use their “future proof” components that they paid extra for… and not just upgrade again in 2 years.

I see people with $400+ mobos, saying they are “future proof” with WiFi 7, USB 4, PCI5 SSDs / GPUs….

But then…don’t want to spend extra for WiFi 7 routers, USB4 storage or PCIE5 drives…

By the time that tech is cheaper… then so would a new base model MOBO that has all that tech.

(Should have just got a B650/B850 instead, and save $200 today)

Tis true. But. Regardless of facts ive only upgraded my computer once for the 3 yrs I’ve had it. It couldn’t run star citizen 😭 went from a i9 11900kf to a 9800x3d and 16g-32g ram. Best decision ever but not upgrading anytime soon 😂

Wish I had money like that to throw around. Just in the process of moving and I’m gonna have to be saving a while for a setup. Best I got is my 3060 laptop so not complaining for now

I want to upgrade cause my computer is 11 years old but i missed my upgrade cycle in 2024 now i have to wait till 2034.

First hi end pc was in 2004 again in 2014…

Mostly cause i cant afford to upgrade right now.

I’ used to upgrade my pc within a few months back in the day (2006 to 2014), then I kept the same hardware for almost a decade, recently upgraded to AM5.

DLSS convinced me higher resolutions were a good idea, then higher resolutions convinced me I need better hardware. It’s a vicious cycle. I used to keep GPUs for 3 generations, now I’m down to 2 generations because I keep getting better monitors.

    It’s a drug.

The other day I was texting with my wife about my frustration that I’m running out of things to upgrade on my PC. My wife asked me if I have enough storage and I realized at that moment it would be super cool if I replaced my 1TB SSD and 1TB HDD with some 4TB NVMEs. So now I’m happy again because I have new reasons to blow money on my baby.

Hell, I took a drive to MicroCenter the other day (it was a journey) just for cable sleeves and a header adapter. I think tolls and gas cost more than what I spent in the store.

I’m obsessed. Every little detail. I love this shit. I haven’t slept in days.
