Turn it off or use windows bloatware removal tool and remove it. Did it years ago and still hasn’t come back to bother me

Win11debloat and Shutup10. Literally never had it pop up again.

Oh but if you do have to use it then pray you see the bastard blue cloud because if it disappears then so does your hardwork. Onedrive crapped out one night and took with it not just my work but almost everyone else’s work on my team with it because the files were open in my system. Almost 2 weeks it took to reverse all the damage it did. Also the dumbass app created a folder dump for the in progress sync files that couldn’t be deleted and if you try to it will hang the system.

The struggle is real. Trying to understand cloud storage.

Services like this are why I switched to Linux. I kept turning this thing off, and it would turn itself back on whenever a new update rolls out.

Regedit: Well, look who came crawling back to me. So, what it is this time

    Me: onedrive

    Regedit: Oh… oh dear

Yah, the first thing I do after installing windows is just disable onedrive from task manager, and then I can live peacefully

For Windows 10/11 Pro there’s a group policy setting called “Prevent the usage of OneDrive for file storage”.

I have it set to enabled and never has Onedrive reinstalled itself.
