It’s the future and corporations have destroyed the environment, yet people walk around this city in some pretty heavy clothing, did the corporations counter balance their environmental damage, or are people just so chromed they don’t care? Love the fashion in the game and definitely wouldn’t want any of it removed for “realism” just a fun thought I had earlier today

It’s a drip or drown world out there regardless of the Temperature

I’m not sure we ever get an actual temperature count, but it’s a city on the pacific coast equatable to LA or SF. It probably averages 20c+ in a day considering how the atmosphere will be ruined and the climate will be messed up. Possibly much higher

Night City is located around real-life San Luis Obispo, CA, which has a cool Pacific Coast climate. Average summer temps are around 75F/23C. Even the most aggressive climate change projections wouldn’t make that a “hot” area in the next 50 years.

Announcement over loudspeakers in some areas:

“Enjoying the weather? Average temperatures in night city have remained within human safety levels!”

So uh. I’m guessing a whole lot hotter than San Luis Obispo.

Typical Southern California desert coastal temps

Like right now? Morrow Bay is at 56F/13C. The California coast is cooler than you think. In the case of global warming as extreme as Cyberpunk, then it would be considerably cooler than inland cities. Fresno is North East of Morrow Bay, and it’s currenly 95F/34C. So I’m guessing at about 6:00 PM on a July night, Night City is somewhere between 85-95F / 29-35C.

And honestly it’s not too bad. I’m in Sacramento and it’s 90F at 6-ish PM, and that’s livable.

It’s nice, cool, a bit breezy. Have you not noticed the giant fans they installed in the badlands? /s

  7. Well is halfway between LA and SF right around the SLO area so I’d say Google the weather in that area.

  8. It’s probably California but with really bad global warming

I think the screens at the metro station have the temperature.

  10. I know that I saw a 7 day weather forecast somewhere on a computer monitor the other day. If I remember right, it was projecting mid 70s.

FINALLY A POST THAT SPEAKS ON REAL ISSUES FOR ME. Also a lot of ppl are mostly naked on the night streets of night city so I imagine it’s pretty warm. Concrete jungle surrounded by a wasteland style desert. Buildings so compressed together no wind gets through from the ocean. Also wheres all the fish?

There are news reports that specifically mention ongoing heatwaves so pretty hot. I figure the folks wearing heavy clothing do so because armor is cheaper than implants.

  13. Rampant_Butt_Sex

I remember seeing or hearing ingame heat advisories of 135F or somewhere along those lines.

  14. I’d imagine climate change killed what would be the temps in that area. It’s just a bit south of the Bay, and it only gets to about 75C tops here. So I’d imagine probably as hot as LA during the summer.

Given that the former U.S.A. has suffered from a massive loss of population and industry, that fossil fuels are not being burned in nearly the same quantities, and that the population of the Cyberpunk world is much smaller than in real life, you would think that the environment has managed to recover somewhat by the 2070s?

Probably really hot I imagine the badlands is way more hot like 80 or 90 degrees

Idk but I’d definitely install rbg pc fans on my cyberware tbh

Assuming on the *high* end of what could possibly be considered a hotter week (not boiling, but a little energy draining/sweat soaked after a little bit of a drive in a car with no A/C) compared to just normal/average today is about 90-95°F.

take into account what is sort of kind of considered a fair day currently (no jacket, just t-shirt and maybe some lighter pants) is about 70ish, let’s go with the high end and say 95+20 =115°F would be considered a more average temperature for NC during a summer.

    Source;

I guessed and mostly made it up

Well, it’s SoCal, maybe 90’s in the dead of summer with mild winters. That’s where I was born and coincidentally the only thing I miss is the weather. 😂
