Different flavors of terrible people. There is no objectively right answer. AKA it’s rock solid storytelling.

  2. Far-Heart-7134

They are both hot as fuck….. Er…. I mean complex characters with super grey morality.

Say what you will but i love the way they are.

  3. Chipsnasoda

Songbird was the biggest manipulating piece of shit. And my V fell for it in his first blind playthrough.

Turns out Reed is just as big of a piece of shit liar to Valerie on my subsequent playthrough

  4. One driven to madness by desire for freedom.

One driven to stupidity by duty and misguided loyalty.

  5. Superfluous_Jam

Honestly? Wanted a Songbird romance. Would have really >! kicked me in the nuts at the betrayal reveal !<

I love how the endings made me feel “bad” and before anyone starts with “oh you chose song bird your terrible” “oh you chose reed you’re a bad person” blah blah blah

Not here to have that conversation. I just wanna talk about how even if you pick a “bad” option you can go even lower. You helped Song Bird reach the terminal, you can hand over her unconscious body to reed or You help reed track down Song Bird to the Cryogenic lab, you can kill her to get a “bad”(SEMANTICS) ending.

It’s the fact that there’s no main “antagonist” yes there’s Hansen but I mainly see him as a obstacle. Myers she was there in the beginning and in the end. But personally yeah she’s bad. But at the same time. She *bad*

V’s first encounter with NUSA Disposable Govt Employees

  8. Ditchdiver16

It sucks that people can’t help but post spoilers. I’m not done with the freaking game yet.

  9. I’m a ride-or-die for Songbird, always will be. The only thing my girl did wrong was not realizing sooner she could trust me and tell me the truth and I’d help her anyway.

  10. fuckingsame

They both suck. They both wrap you into drama you shouldn’t have ever been involved in.

  11. I think Johnny describing Reed as an idealist fighting for a cause is a garbage take, and he should know better.

  12. Gear-Noir

Excellent missions and storyline…but that characters themselves are a hot mess.

  13. Reed is a Paladin whose tenants and rules caused him to get others hurt. He feels guilty for getting Songbird in her situation, but is still loyal to his tenants and the government. He tries to do good, but if Myers tells him to do something, he ends up doing it and justifying it later on. Blind loyalty, like a good little soldier.

Songbird is a Wizard whose talents were quickly found, used, and taken advantage of for causes that weren’t her own. She was brought in by a dog on a leash (Reed) to get her own shiny collar. Time and time again, Songbird trusts people and gets proved that they are scumbags with their own agendas, or blindly serve those with the agendas. So, she says “Fuck it” and decides to only look out for herself. She’s been played with, so she chooses to play others too. Manipulate just like she was manipulated.

Would’ve preferred a prequel comic about them instead tbh, I feel like there’s a lot to their dynamic that could be explored.

  15. Florina_Laufeyson

    Songbird deserves the moon.

    Reed deserves a body bag.

    Alex deserves retirement.

    Myers deserves hell.

  16. StrongStyleMuscle

If you lightly tapped songbird on the back I wonder if she’d feel it.

  17. YvonnePHD

I felt I could relate to Reed. His story makes more sense to me.

  18. spicyautist

They suck so bad as people, God I love them both. My favorite liars and manipulaters.

  19. Paelidore

Song was an unfortunate soul acting out of desperation to get out of a cage she didn’t think she was in. Reed is 100% a tool who justifies every single fuck up and gaslights or handwaves anything that highlights this. GOD I hated Reed. I just wish so many of the voice options didn’t sound like you were fawning over him. Meta-wise awesome characters with deep motives and interesting behaviors – and AWESOME voice acting. Solid work, haha.

  20. One’s a manipulative liar who can only think of herself and routinely double-crosses everyone she comes in contact with.

The other is a fanatical agent who puts service to the NUSA above everything. He is solidly supportive of you as long as you share his ideals and goals, but extremely dangerous if you don’t. At least you know where you stand with him.

My first playthrough I wanted to be pro Songbird, but after the shit she pulled that would make V Night Citie’s biggest dope.

  21. Savathun-God-Of-Lies

    Love Songbird, we besties

Reed is cool too, I don’t hate him, I just like Songbirb more :3

  22. lhommetrouble

You actually get something out of helping Reed, he keeps his promise. Songbird is just a 100% lying, manipulating, backstabber.

  23. Glum-Spare7522

Couldn’t stand ending I opted for in PL. not good enough

  24. Decent_Historian42

Hate reed with a burning passion (i have played all endings now and god siding with him was hard) reed blackmailed a teenage songbird isolated her all in the name of “doing whats right for the government”. Sure songbird did lie to you but i know for a fact id do the same if i was in her shoes and i just wanted some freedom.

Though the entire DLC was hard morally no matter what choice you make, Its the best DLC ive played.

  25. Historical_Ocelot197

They are good and competent people who have been twisted by the world they live in. Reed is an idealist whose ideals were shaped by a country that would never respect his loyalty and moral compass. Songbird is a prodigy who’s lonely but was taught that trusting anyone is a weakness.

In any other world, they might have developed into good or even great human beings. Sadly they learned the wrong things, because if they didn’t they would have died. Reed regrets the choice he ends up making, I think he really could have gone either way but made ONE wrong call. Song is trapped in a self-fulfilling prophecy. She has been nothing but a tool, and thus she treats other people as tools too, because she will do anything to be free of people who will use her. She knows it’s wrong to treat people this way, but she also knows it works, so she does it anyway

  26. Death_Begone

She’s a manipulative hottie and he is a remorseless agent… Great storyline though

  27. heyitscory

Shit. I wish I could betray them both, and also the President. Pretty much all the fixers, and probably all four romantic options.

El Cappy and G-Prof are the only motherfuckers that don’t break my heart bullshitting me.

    Rest in the stars, Garry.

  28. Anakhannawa

Songbird and Reed trying not to fuck things up: Impossible.

Seriously, the more I played the more I thought “Can you guys fucking not?”

  29. OneLow7646

Songbird did what she could and Reed had no soul
