After I killed all the soldiers in the helicopter area and hid from the acp with the twilight, I came back to find that the ussr had developed cloaking technology for their aircraft and that the world around me started to disappear for whatever reason. Woods is very wrong about Soviet engineering being the worst, stuff like this is like 200 years ahead of their time.
