Its literally what alt does to you. She literally kills you, like a passage to heaven or the walk to mikoshi, then makes a copy of your consciousness transforming you into pixels or data and sends you out to the world again.

Its also works as metaphor to the entire journey, you essentially die at kompeki plaza and by the end you are reborn, but not exactly the same as you were before

That entire mission is stacked with foreshadowing, symbolism, and details that will come up later in the game.

Holy shit. Another reminder why this game is peak.

  4. The Name of Act I should really be just foreshadowing.

Mikoshi is “in the sky” in the sense that the servers are located in orbit and the wall decoration can be interpreted as a data stream. But I don’t see anything that would be a symbol for death, getting, reborn, or being copied.

I would rather say, the architecture symbolizes the Secure Your Soul program, meaning that the data stream goes up into the sky. Which also makes sense, because that’s Arasaka’s flagship project and something they heavily use for propaganda. So it makes sense to incorporate that into their HQ’s architecture.

on my 3d playthorugh I did the nomad intro and found that there is a literal sticker displaying the mikoshi pyramid on the back of V’s nomad car
so the end of it all was foreshadowed when V was still in south california
