I think this would be the best of both worlds, honestly. The powerful features we currently have for free (Loadout weapon, field upgrade, free-of-choice equipment, etc.) here come with a cost and a sacrifice. It gives weight behind the mechanic and it means you cannot get everything at once. It would keep the system of designing your playstyle like the loadout system, but keeping it much more open than BO4's perk system and also much more restricting than CWs/BO6s loadout system. Depending on what you choose, the Box will get more useful again, Perk machines can be more or less useful, etc.
If loadouts are to come back in BO7 Zombies, this is the system I want to see (unless a better/improved suggestion comes along)

I think it would be better to just do away with loadouts but I much prefer a pick 10 like system to the current one
I always wondered why they didn’t make it this way in the first place, would be a whole lot better than just starting with literally everything or nothing.
Honestly, i’m not agreeing with the presented examples, but i dig it.
I feel like the “best of both world” would be everything for free (weapon, melee, field upgrade, etc…).
However :
– Adding equipments (stating with +2 nades instead of +1 for example)
– Adding attachements to your starting weapon
– Using a weapon from different class
– Adding augments to your Field Upgrade
Takes a fixed ammount of spaces.
The perk limit is a mixed bag for me, i don’t hate it being milited to 4-5, but i don’t like it being limited either, up to them.
It’s a great idea, but I still would still prefer not having any kind of loadout in zombies. Being overpowered at the beginning is part of the reason zombies has lost its way. Loadouts also all but made wall buys and the mystery box obsolete, and the removal of petk limits took away the ability to mix up playstyles based on the perks you chose.
That being said, I would definitely prefer the 10 point system to what we currently have.
Excellent idea. If the loadouts have to return, I think this would be the best solution. But the devs are not fans of good ideas, so I doubt they’ll do it like this.
A better idea is the old pick 10 system in multiplayer and then no loadouts, field upgrades, scorestreaks, augments, armour etc. Have the perk limit return to 4 with additional slots being earnable per match via competing randomized challenges (the challenges would be visable at the spawn area kinda like Origins or Gorod Krovis challenges but for perk slots instead). Bring bacl barricades and the old point system retcon the story to remove the campaigns and all the post BO4 crap.
Basically give us the classic game back. The games that were actually loved and retained players.
Ya’ll really wanna go back to having a perk limit? Fuck that shit
The only thing I can agree with is that last paragraph. Would rather we just not have classes but if we do I’m open to trying it out. Although it still just feels like a different iteration of the same thing. We already have a “limited” amount of stuff we can spawn in with and applying a pick 10 system just creates an arbitrary limitation that doesn’t amount to much beyond the buzz word of “pick 10”. And I doubt Treyarch would limit tier 1 armor to 3 points. At most I can see it being 2. Furthermore, I would rather we get ways to earn perks in the maps instead of an out of game selection. I adore playing maps like Origins and Zetsubou where I can earn perk slots for completing a task. It feels rewarding and hidden for the players who actually want to seek it out.
they would absolutely not take out gobblegums, it’s Activi$ion we’re talking about
He’s cooked but we all know majority of the things 90% will just stay the same
