Hideo Kojima goes in hard on AI and is worried we’ll all ‘be unknowingly led into a predetermined lifestyle’

dont we already live a predetermined life style… we have an illusion of choices with our confinements but it is still a full on constrain within which we dont get to have any “real” say over it outside of “exiting” it, and even that is under influence of things outside of our control, right? I know I am coming from a really nihilistic and somewhat stupid point of view buuuut it is true…

p.s. before someone is like, he is specifically talking about “people” controlling other, my statement includes that… and thanks for the dv, good job~

We are already living a predetermined gamestyle, Death Stranding is Metal Gear Survive with MGS references, it’s like we are predetermined to play the same game over and over, guess Arsenal Gear won.

Hope his next game goes harder than MGS2 about AI.

“If you think this has a happy ending, you haven’t been paying attention.”

It’s relatively obvious AI is bad, it’s trained on what humans have done and what humans have done in the digitally recorded history. At best we get stuck in the timeline of 1950-2030ish with AI recycling trends forever.

According to opponents of it, AI is simultaneously just a glorified chatbot and the end of civilisation as we know it

I respect him for my beloved metal gear. I think he has not done anything major after that. Dude just made a single series and is still living off it. So I don’t really take his inputs seriously.
He’s more interested in getting into movies, not games.
